Adam Rippon reveals surprising new business venture: “I do have the affinity for the odd procedure”
Who saw THIS coming?

Former Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon has revealed a new business venture… and it’s something of a pivot.
Rippon, 35, won a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. He announced his retirement from competition later that same year. He has since carved out a career as a sports commentator.

He’s now flexing his entrepreneurship wings. On an Instagram reel, he shared that he’s planning on opening a medical spa.
Rippon said he wanted to share the entire journey of starting his new business. He’s sitting in an empty room, which he says will be the site of his new facility. He’s just signed the lease. All it has so far is the “outdoor IKEA patio chair” he’s sitting upon.
“Do I know what I’m doing? No,” he says, laughing nervously. “Not really. I’m figuring it out as I go. But what I’ve learned is that nobody knows what they’re doing until they just do it.”
As for deciding on a medical spa, he says, “If you know me, I feel like a medical spa does make perfect sense. I do have the affinity for the odd procedure. Does that mean that I will be injecting Botox into you? No, it doesn’t. And, um, that, in fact, would be illegal.”
He explains that he’s starting the new business with some “really great people” and will share more about them on Instagram as things develop. This includes his friend Tamar, “a total pro” and “the best injector I’ve ever been to”. There will also be “an amazing medical director.”
He says his husband, a designer, will also be assisting with the business’s design.

Painting and trips to Home Depot
Rippon talked more about his new spa yesterday on his ‘Intrusive Thoughts After Hours’ podcast. He said he’d personally spent “8 to 12 hours every day painting” his new spa space and “making endless trips to Home Depot.” The next step is awaiting the delivery of furniture. Check out the first ten minutes below.
No further information is known at the moment. Queerty reached out to Rippon’s representatives to ask about the spa’s location and when it might open, but we’ve yet to hear back.
Either way, we’re sure Rippon’s involvement will certainly generate interest, and we can’t wait to hear more.
