So, it only makes sense that we’re making it official. We are thrilled to announce the launch of The Queerty Book Club today, a new partnership with the revolutionary online bookstore Allstora.

Why we’re teaming up with Allstora

If you haven’t heard of Allstora, allow us to make the introduction. What started in 2022 as the tiny-but-mighty queer bookshop “ShopQueer” has blossomed into a major force for good in the literary world. Co-founded by the legendary RuPaul, homo historian Dr. Eric Cervini, and actor Adam Powell, Allstora was built on a simple yet radical mission: to support underrepresented authors and build community around their stories.

In an industry where authors often receive a tiny fraction of a book’s profit, Allstora ensures authors earn double the industry standard for every book sold on the platform. It’s a system designed to put power and profit back in the hands of the creators who enrich our lives.

But their mission extends beyond commerce. Through their philanthropic arm, the Rainbow Book Bus, Allstora is actively fighting censorship by distributing thousands of LGBTQ+ books to communities impacted by book bans. This commitment to access and representation is at the heart of why this partnership feels so right.

What is The Queerty Book Club?

The Queerty Book Club is your new monthly date with the queer culture that shapes our world. Each month, we’ll spotlight a can’t-put-down non-fiction read packed with confessions, hidden histories, and the larger-than-life moments that define our community.

Here’s how it works: subscribe by the 14th of any month to get the first book and start earning book tokens, which you will use to claim future books. Your first book will ship shortly after joining, with renewals processing on the 15th of each month. And don’t worry, if a selection doesn’t feel right for you, you can choose a book from another club or skip it and save your tokens for a different book, merch, or a rainy day.

Once you get your book, the Allstora platform will be your place to join and participate forums, share spoilers (in a dedicated spoilers channel!), and engage with readers including our very own Queerty editorial team.
