Michigan to Welcome New LGBTQ+ Bar
A Michigan businessman and his wife are turning a local restaurant into a gay bar.Phil and Ardele Shaltz told MLive.com they are transitioning the existing 501 Bar and Grill in Flint, Michigan, into The District, a safe space bar and nightclub for gay, transgender, lesbian, and bisexual folks.“We are transitioning to a safe space for all members of the community,” Shaltz told MLive.com.Shalz said the transition should be finished and the new bar ready for its grand opening in about six weeks.
