Either way, the girls are gagging after Steve Lacy shared a cozy selfie alongside Omar Apollo on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

In the pic, Apollo appears pressed behind Lacy with his arms wrapped around him while the two smile softly.

It seems both queer musicians knew exactly what they were doing, too, because the photo, which Apollo later reshared, was captioned, “Hoes mad.” LOL.

Thanks to some sleuthing, we ascertained that the photo was likely snapped in Los Angeles, where Lacy spent the night sharing his upcoming sophomore album, Oh Yeah?, with a lucky group of fans for The Record Club.

(Can we also take a moment to appreciate his t-shirt, which features a string of lyrics from Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love Of All”?! The taste!)

But what does it mean? Is the duo about to drop a collaboration? Or are they, erm, already collaborating behind the scenes?!?

Needless to say, Gay Twitter X had some thoughts.

Naturally, the comments included speculation on who’s topping whom, whether the “vers vibe goes nastyyyyyyy,” and if both men just “love being messy.”

So, to be fair, Lacy’s assumption that “hoes mad” was indeed correct. LOL.

Of course, it doesn’t help that the 28-year-old singer-songwriter, who identifies as sexually fluid, is in full-on, red-jockstrap-out promotion mode ahead of his album.

Considering the project is set to feature collabs with SZA, Erykah Badu, and Cecile Believe, we wouldn’t be surprised to eventually learn Apollo also had a hand in crafting some of the tunes.

Plus, Omar is no stranger to trolling and getting the gays hot and bothered.

In addition to leaking his full-frontal scene in Queer, sharing his nudes in the MoMA, and documenting his “pantsless” hangs with Troye Sivan, we still haven’t recovered from his collaboration with Pedro Pascal.

(No, we’re NOT just talking about the shirtless vacation, either.)

But this isn’t the first time they’ve flirted in our faces. Back in June, Apollo shared a FaceTime screenshot of a very shirtless Lacy with the caption, “Kissin Steve thru the iPhone.”

Perhaps we should give the 29-year-old singer the benefit of the doubt.

Afer all, his most recent Instagram grid post was a selfie with the caption: “it’s me boyfriend d*ck.” Oop.

Of course, Lacy commented on the pic, “Hey! Text me back,” later adding, “it’s important.”

We are sure it was! ???? ???? ????
