Debra Messing’s psychotic Mamdani-meltdown reaches full crash out level

Debra Messing has accused Zohran Mamdani of celebrating 9/11, “siding with terrorists” and identifying as an “Actual Communist Jihadist.” In the 24 hours before Tuesday’s election, the washed up actress posted 100 unhinged Instagram stories, crashing out in real time.

But when the polls closed Tuesday, and it was announced that Mamdani would be the next mayor of New York City, Messing couldn’t even muster her own bigoted rebuke. Instead, she shared a message in the wee hours of the morning from a random Zionist influencer, who calls himself a “politically homeless liberal” and says voting for Mamdani is akin to voting for Tr*mp.

Speaking of That Man, Messing reposted his begrudging endorsement of Andrew Cuomo earlier in the day. The president said New Yorkers had “no choice” but to vote for the disgraced former governor.

The vast majority of them disagreed. Mamdani received 50.4% of the vote, while Cuomo lagged a distant second at 41.6%. With more than 2 million ballots cast, it was the highest turnout for an NYC mayoral race since 1969.

The excitement, and animus, that Mamdani produced was generational in its scope. As a democratic socialist with pro-Palestine beliefs, his politics were always going to elicit strong reactions from the city’s capital class. But the criticism lobbed towards Mamdani turned into full-on hate.

Cynically, conservatives tried to fear-monger about Mamdani’s Muslim identity and Ugandan roots, baselessly declaring he would implement Sharia Law.

Messing, a long-time ally and GLAAD honoree, shamefully played into the Islamaphobia. In the lead-up to Tuesday, she amplified posts from countless anti-LGBTQ+ personalities, including the loathsome “Libs of TikTok.”

Previously a darling of the queer community, it’s fair to say the Will & Grace star has been disowned.

While exit poll numbers on LGBTQ+ voters aren’t yet available, it’s fair to surmise that Mamdani dominated with the girls, gays and theys. In Bushwick, for example, he captured 82% of the vote.

Mamdani cleared 60% in nearly every LGBTQ+ enclave, from Hell’s Kitchen to Bed–Stuy.

This past weekend, Mamdani courted the queer vote at Brooklyn nightclubs, an unconventional move for a supposed supporter of Sharia Law.

Shakira Law, however, is another question…

As a backer of Kamala Harris, it would be inaccurate to say that Messing has gone full MAGA. But over the last several months, she’s echoed the MAGA crowd’s hate speech. “A vote for [Republican Curtis] Sliwa is a vote for Mamdani is a vote for New-York-Stan,” noted one of her posts.

As NY Mag points out, Messing was sharing the same memes as Ted Cruz.

When your online behavior starts to resemble Ted Cruz‘s, it’s time to log the F off. Here’s hoping Messing’s meltdown is mercifully complete.
