Netflix and GAY TIMES joined forces for a special London screening of Heartstopper season three, where dozens of fans were left stunned by secret guest appearances from Joe Locke, Jenny Walser and Alice Oseman.
On 2 October at Picturehouse Central, the GAY TIMES cover stars behind Charlie and Tori Spring and Oseman, who created the webcomic of the same name and serves as creator and writer of the series, participated in a Q&A with host Megan Jayne-Crabb.
After reflecting on the heavier themes of season three, including Charlie’s battle with his eating disorder and the “steamier” sequences, as well as their favourite moments from filming, fans were treated to the first two episodes.
The event also included a plethora of recognisable faces, such as Heartstopper executive producer Patrick Walters, presenters Harriet Rose and Josh Thomas, activists Yasmin Benoit and Alex Vasquez, internet personalities Max Selwood, Ilya Selyn, Joel Rochester, Rhys Thomas and Maninder Sachdeva and Drag Race UK stars Kitty Scott-Claus, Kyran Thrax, River Medway and Tia Kofi.
Directed by Andy Newbery, all eight episodes of Heartstopper‘s much-anticipated third season – which debuted with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, just FYI – are now available to stream on Netflix.
“As the summer holiday ends and the months race on, the friends begin to realise that the school year will come with both its joys and its challenges,” reads the official synopsis. “As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties and start thinking about university choices, everyone must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go to plan.”
Season three also sees the return of Kit Connor as Nick, Yasmin Finney as Elle, William Gao as Tao, Corinna Brown as Tara, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy, Tobie Donovan as Isaac, Rhea Norwood as Imogen, Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry, Fisayo Akinade as Nathan, Chetna Pandya as Coach Singh, Bradley Riches as James and Bel Priestly as Naomi.
New faces include Hayley Atwell as Aunt Diane, Eddie Marsan as Geoff, Jensen Clayden as Oliver Spring and Darragh Hand as Michael Holden.
