Is Tr*mp’s White House UFC cagefight just another million-dollar grift?
Not the kind of erection we like

We know Tr*mp has a weakness for handsome men, especially cage fighters. But while most of us are content to keep our kinks to ourselves, Tr*mp is not that kind of guy. Hence his decision to erect a gigantic iron cage in the back of the White House for a UFC event slated for the upcoming America 250—sorry, FREEDOM 250 celebration…which just happens to coincide with Tr*mp’s 80th birthday.
There’s just one problem: nobody wants the $60 million structure. Most Americans just want to be able to cover the cost of groceries and gas with enough left over to pay rent.
Naturally, lies about the July 14 event are already proliferating, most of them originating from Tr*mp himself.

“I’ve never seen anybody want anything so much as people want those tickets,” Tr*mp recently announced. Except that’s incorrect, because most people want an affordable life much more than they want tickets to a prizefight. He also announced that the 5,000 seat structure would be erected “right outside the front door of the White House,” when it’s actually on the South Lawn, not far away from the decimated East Wing.
The fight is part of a broader push to feel good about America’s 250th anniversary in the face rising national debt and a pissed-off populace, but the celebration is already drawing criticism from both sides of the aisle after images surfaced from a disturbing Christian pray-a-thon event earlier this month. It’s giving Jim Jones, it’s giving Children of God, but most of all, it’s giving embarrassing, especially since we know Tr*mp is using the America 250 celebration as a further branding opportunity in the form of passports with his face on them.
Making a quick buck at the expense of others is definitely what America is all about, but there’s a deeper reason to raise eyebrows at the towering UFC structure currently being erected in the White House’s shadow. While UFC is claiming to foot the entire bill for the cage’s construction and tickets to the event are free, the match is also being used—surprise surprise!—to further line Tr*mp’s pockets. Even though people can technically get tickets to see the fight at a nearby park without paying a dime, certain sponsored ringside seats are available…for a “donation” of $1.5 million.
We know this thanks to a “partner investment” package for the event that promised: “a partner welcome reception, press conference reserved seating, ceremonial weigh-ins, general admission access, Zak Brown concert access, UFC 329 floor tickets, and WWE event integration ring signage.”
A sports journalist told the BBC that the tickets were being pitched to certain “high rollers” last month. The kicker? We have no idea where the money for these “sponsorship” tickets are actually going.
“The White House directed inquiries about sponsorships to the UFC, which reiterated that it is not selling tickets to the event but did not comment on where the sponsorship money was going,” NBC News reported earlier this month.
Since UFC plans to lose upwards of $30 million on the venture, the question of who gets to keep the money is still quite open-ended.
Luckily, Democrats are pouncing on the latest “Let Them Eat Cake” gesture from the White House. Taxpayers might not be footing the bill for this fight, but they’re definitely not thrilled about the optics either.
The good news is, if this grift is anything like the recent Tr*mp Mobile scandal, it’s going to blow up in Tr*mp’s face in no time.
