As a city commissioner, he feels it is his duty to remove transgender content — “garbage,” as he refers to it. He is supported in this stance by the other members of St. Marys’ five-person city commission, a heavily religious group that attends the Society of St. Pius X, or SSPX, an extreme religious sect that broke away from the Catholic church.
