Colton Underwood and his husband, Jordan C. Brown, are officially parents.
Back in May, the happy couple surprised their social media followers when they announced that they were expecting “a little boy in the fall,” accompanied by photos of the couple and a sonogram.
In a further statement, Underwood described his journey to fatherhood as a “rollercoaster of emotions – humbling, exciting and truly eye-opening”.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome our baby boy and really get to embrace ‘Daddyhood’ in a whole new way,” he said.
“Jordan and I are looking forward to all the little moments, like holding, feeding, and changing him. But above all, we’re most excited to show him just how loved he already is.”
Four months after sharing the exciting news, Underwood and Brown returned to social media to introduce their little bundle of joy to the world.
“Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood September 26th, 2024,” he wrote on Instagram alongside photos of him and Brown embracing their son.
In an additional post, the former Bachelor star celebrated Bishop’s arrival with a video of him feeding the latter a bottle of milk.
Underwood’s adorable announcement has since been met with love and support from his fans and industry peers.
Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson commented: “Congrats dads!” while One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush wrote, “Sweet angel is home. Congratulations, loves!.”
Gus Kenworthy and Chrishell Stause also sent congratulatory messages, with the latter writing, “Soooo happy for you guys!” alongside teary-eyed emojis.
Before the arrival of baby Bishop, the reality TV star opened up to Men’s Health about his and Jordan’s surrogacy journey, revealing that he had only one viable sperm out of the four collected.
“Four sperm, and three of them are dead. Word for word, what the doctor said, he goes, ‘Uh, I can maybe make this one work’ This one?'” he told the news outlet.
“I wish somebody had educated me about my sperm and my body, and the decisions that I made and how it would impact me… I didn’t know the difference between semen and sperm. If you’re [ejaculating], you just assume you have sperm.”
Underwood and Brown, a political strategist for the Democratic Party, first started dating in the summer of 2021 and got engaged during a “weekend getaway” in Big Sur after Colton’s birthday in March 2022.
The following year, the pair tied the knot in a “special” ceremony during a three-day-long celebration in Napa Valley.
