[PHOTOS] No one throws a Fire Island party like Lamba Legal?!

The lawyers tirelessly fighting for our rights in courts showed New York that they also know how to throw a darn good party, too, at last weekend’s Lambda Legal in the Pines.

Now in its 48th year, the longest-running LGBTQ+ fundraiser in Fire Island Pines brought together hundreds of attendees and raised a record-setting $500,000 for Lambda Legal, a national organization and force in the fight for full LGBTQ+ equality and HIV-related legal protections.

Hosts Todd Sears, Andrew Mitchell-Namdar, and James Dale entertained speedo-clad guests who sipped on cocktails, splashed in the pool, and danced to beats from internationally renowned DJ Morabito.

And you might even recognize the famous Fire Island Pines house where it all went down: Dale and David Lam’s ocean-front property, which was featured in Ryan Murphy’s 2014 film The Normal Heart.

While it was mostly smiles and sunshine, this year’s event felt especially pivotal, given the current legal pressures facing LGBTQ+ Americans — a fact that wasn’t lost on Dale, who was represented by Lambda Legal in his U.S. Supreme Court case against Boy Scouts of America.

“The targets may have changed, but the urgency remains,” he said in a statement.

And here at GayCities, we have to admit that fighting for our rights has never looked so hot!
