Cynthia Nixon to officiate world’s largest all-women wedding and renewal ceremony

Actress Cynthia Nixon is set to preside over a unique event in St Petersburg, Florida, next winter. Taking place on Feb. 21, 2027, the Sex and the City and Gilded Age icon will officiate Bride Pride St Pete.
Organizers are calling it “the world’s largest all-girl wedding and renewal ceremony”. They’re inviting couples from across the country to attend and help them set a new Guinness World Record.
If they can recruit 100 couples to take part, they will set a record for the largest all-women wedding ceremony ever.
“Imagine standing beside hundreds of women simultaneously declaring their never-ending love for one another beneath the stunning February skies of sunny St. Pete,” says the official website.

“You’ll be legally married—or gloriously re-married—by acclaimed actor, cultural icon, LGBTQ+ activist, and Reverend-for-the-Day, Cynthia Nixon.”
Nixon married her own partner, Christine Marinoni, in 2014 in New York. The women have been together for the past 22 years.
The history of Bride Pride
Bride Pride takes place during the wider Winter Pride St. Pete, which runs February 14-21. Should you wish to accept the opportunity to get married or renew your vows, you can be sure that the week will also offer plenty of other parties and events to attend.
The founders and producers of Bride Pride are Ilene Mitnick and Alli Baldwin.
“Bride Pride began the same way a lot of good things do – with a simple conversation between two women in love,” they explain.
“Years ago, while living in Provincetown and running our beloved inn, Roux Provincetown, we decided we wanted to renew our vows during Women’s Week,” they explain. “But somewhere between morning coffee, cocktails on the porch, and dreaming out loud, the idea got bigger.
“What if we invited other women to join us? Not just a few friends. Not just a small ceremony.
“What if we leaned all the way into love and invited every woman on the planet to either get married or renew their vows – with us? And just like that, Bride Pride was born.
“What began as a heartfelt idea quickly became something much bigger than anyone expected.
“People came – from local to international. Hundreds of women gathered beneath the Provincetown sky, standing side by side, publicly and joyfully declaring their love for one another during the height of Women’s Week.”
The first Bride Pride took place in 2016 and attracted 53 couples. It’s now an occasional, pop-up event at different locations.
