Plan a Trip to Provincetown Brewing Co. For Their Third-Annual Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant
Provincetown is one of the ultimate queer destinations for a summer filled with trips and vacations, but if you’re planning a trip to the rainbow haven, you’ll need to know the top LGBTQ+ events to attend while visiting. And if you’re looking for a night of side-splitting laughter, drag artistry, and the creativity, uniqueness, nerve, and talent from some hilarious queens, then Provincetown Brewing Co. has got just what you need. The third-annual Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant is returning to Provincetown Brewing Co.’s taproom this August for a celebration of bearded beauty, where drag and the spirit of individuality reign supreme. During the evening, a variety of contestants will bring their own flair to the stage, competing in four different categories to determine who will be the next Miss Bearded Mistress. This is no ordinary pageant, because even though the categories these contestants will compete in follow typical beauty pageants, there is that drag factor that will bring out the silliness and comedy of its contestants. Prepare for contestants to compete in both eveningwear and swimwear categories, where extravagance and confidence make a difference, but don’t forget the whimsy. After that, that’s when the audience gets to see what these queens are made of when they compete in the talent and interview portions of the pageant. Expect a cornucopia of different talents that will both delight and leave you laughing on the floor. And expect some unfiltered responses to those interview questions, because these queens don’t hold back.Judged by a panel of local celebrity guests, the Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant is not only a night of fun and celebration, but it also offers a $500 cash prize to the winner whose likeness will appear on Provincetown Brewing Co.’s best-selling Bearded Mistress IPA cans that are distributed in Provincetown and beyond. But that’s not all! The Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant will be hosted by local drag icons Local Honey (Harrison Fish) and Tadonna (Todd Flaherty), and they know how to keep the energy soaring and the laughter rolling on with their magnetic stage presence. They’ll be joined by the reigning Miss Bearded Mistress 2022, Cocktail (Jeffrey Schafer), and the OG Miss Bearded Mistress, local musical superstar Joao Santos. While they’re there to crown the winner, they’ll also be celebrating the coinciding of the Miss Bearded Mistress Pageant with the commemoration of the grand opening of Provincetown Brewing Co.’s taproom that opened back in August of 2019. And to mark the special occasion, Provincetown Brewing Co. is also giving back to its rainbow community. With Provincetown Brewing Co.’s commitment to #DRAFTIVISM, a portion of the night’s proceeds will be donated to the Verna Felton non-profit organization, which provides resources and opportunities for members of the LGBTQ+ community through the art of drag. So, get ready for a pageant where everything goes, the art of drag is celebrated in all its wild and wacky ways, and where the night ends up revealing something extraordinary. And if you’re looking not just to travel for the pageant but want to compete? Dare to join by emailing Provincetown Brewing Co. at taproom@provincetownbrewingco.com.
