It’s Labor Day Weekend (and the last holigay until Thanksgiving), so we’re going to keep it short and sweet, because we know you’ve got plans.
The past week of LGBTQ+ news has given plenty of fodder as we anxiously awaited one last outing to the beach and spiked seltzer in the sun.

First, Connor Storrie ignited locker room discourse, Freddie Mercury’s ex spilled on his coming out, and we reminisced on the gayest movie made during Hollywood’s golden era.
Plus, Chris Colfer got handsy, Grindr’s stock went way up, a 34-year-old gay lawmaker got sworn into Congress, and Niecy Nash and her wife made us cry.
Otherwise, it’s been nonstop plants, pop songs, and pumpkin spice.

1. Plant Zaddy-approved planters
Why trust a plant daddy when you can trust the Plant Zaddy? The modern and design-forward planters from Zadnerd Designs, available on LGBTQ Outpost, are the brainchild of Adam, a self-proclaimed “engineer by degree, nerd by choice, and animal and plant lover by nature.”
Each design is made-to-order and comprised of 3D-printed, biodegradable plastic, with a focus on actual plant care, not just how good it will look on your bookshelf. (The hidden dip trays are a real plant life-saver!) My personal faves are the Hyperloop Planter and NOVA Planter, available in multiple sizes and colors, starting at $17.99 and $24.99, respectively.
2. A t-shirt that might be too soon
ICYMI: On August 25, 2026, the gay community suffered two devastating losses when unabashed icons Dolly Parton and Tim Curry passed away. Do we cry? Do we laugh? I do not know, but rest assured some queen has already made a T-shirt commemorating the day, currently available for under $30 on Etsy.
3. Kacey Musgraves giving the gayest show ever
Kacey Musgraves (and a giant pair of “slightly asymmetrical” disco truck nuts) are currently charting across North America on the Middle of Nowhere Tour, although it’s going to be hard to beat her September 1 show at Madison Square Garden.
In between hits like “Dry Spell,” which is the H-word personified, and unofficial LGBTQ+ anthem “High Horse,” the 38-year-old asked the sold-out crowd if they were gayer than the previous night’s audience. After a thunderous applause, she quipped, “That was obvious,” which turned out to be fairly prescient when twink pop prince Troye Sivan later emerged.
Together, the duo blessed the audience with the first-ever live performance of their Mark Ronson-assisted duet, “Easy.” I I was not the only gay man in my section who screamed at an eardrum-shattering-decibel level!
Add Kacey to your must-see list, as her tour continues through October.
4. This woman who loves smiley faces
I’m not crying, you’re crying at this adorable video of a queer woman named Diane who adopted smiley faces as her personal brand, collected over 3000 grinning faced-items, and used them to meet friends on an LGBTQ+ cruise.

5. Um… pumpkin spice deodorant?
Forget what the calendar says, according to our favorite franchised coffee shops, it’s been autumn for at least a week now. So, I suppose it was only a matter of time until Old Spice’s seasonal “Pumpking” scented deodorant (available for $3.14 on Amazon) reared its cinnamon stick-shaped head.
It’s giving cruising in an orchard, skimpy Halloween costume freshness, and an excuse to break out the flannels!
6. A hot guy reading
Because reading is what? Fundamental.

7. “Bass Persuades” by Miley Cyrus
Just when I was ready to dust off my vinyl copy of Red (Taylor’s Version) and order a maple latte, Miley dropped her last name and this certified banger to remind us that we don’t have to surrender summer just yet. If its high-glam music video, complete with shirtless dudes and leather-bar lewks, doesn’t win you over, its sticky chorus, which proclaims “the kids don’t want to dance,” surely will.
It’s safe to say that Gay Guy Music Video Night will never be the same.
8. Donna Summer: The Casablanca Studio Albums Collector’s Edition
Speaking of music, Madonna, Jessie Ware, and Zara Larsson gave us many reasons to dance this summer, but we really should be thanking Donna Summer, whose sparkling influence can be traced back to nearly every modern dance-pop hit.
Fittingly, the undisputed Queen of Disco’s discography is finally getting the shimmering box set it deserves with Donna Summer: The Casablanca Studio Albums Collector’s Edition. The collection unites all of Summer’s solo records from 1975 to 1979, including Love to Love You Baby and Bad Girls, alongside dazzling images and an essay penned by Christian John Wikane. You can pre-order either the 7-CD or 10-LP set now on Amazon ahead of its October 2 release.
9. Colton Ryan
I haven’t started the second season of Chad Powers, Glenn Powell’s disgraced-football-player-in-disguise vehicle, which features a lot of prosthetics and a secretly sweet friendship with a gay college student, but this GIF of Colton Ryan in a jock has me rearranging my watchlist as I write this.
10. On-the-go games for when the club isn’t hopping
We’ve all been there: You’re at your favorite gay dive bar, the vibes are low, and you’ve already exhausted every avenue of Kylie Minogue-related conversation you can think of. But now, you don’t have to pack it up early, thanks to Uncommon Goods’ Go-Anywhere Party Game-in-a-Tin ($13 each online).
