Before heading out to Silom to drink, party, and dance your socks off, you must get carbo-loaded and hydrated in advance.
SO/ Bangkok has all of that sorted. Six of Bangkok’s most popular bars and restaurants are housed under one roof. There’s something for every taste and every mood.
Even if you’re not staying here, it’s the perfect place to go to prepare for your big gay night out in Bangkok. Once you’ve been fed and have that happy cocktail buzz going, Silom Road Bangkok’s gayborhood is less than 2 km away. That’s a 20-minute walk or under 5 minutes in a taxi or a Tuk-tuk.
Are you ready to discover what gastronomic delights await?
Let’s start with dinner.
Buffet Dinner at Red Oven
SO/ Bangkok’s international buffet restaurant on the 7th floor has sweeping views of Lumpini Park.
The buffet offers international dining on a grand scale daily from 6 pm to 10 pm. Enjoy flavorful meals from the Robatayaki Grill or sushi and sashimi freshly prepared in front of your eyes. Pasta, seafood, pizza, Thai noodles, and an array of desserts complete the experience.
Friday and Saturday nights in Bangkok are always busy and often come with a higher price tag. SO/ Bangkok offers its international buffet at promotional prices on those nights.
Sushi for the Health Conscious
Japanese food and flavors are so hip in Thailand now, and SO/ Bangkok wanted to offer a contemporary take on that classic cuisine. Welcome to SOSHI. Also located on the 7th floor, it was part of Red Oven but proved too popular, so it’s now housed separately, with an inviting Japanese-themed decor.
Chef Sornnarin creates sushi from the northern region of Japan, Tajima. What we love the most is that all the ingredients include environmentally farmed vegetables, fresh seafood, premium beef, and organic rice.
The sushi and sashimi buffet at SOSHI is a guilt-free indulgence.
Sunset Cocktails
Ok, you’ve got enough energy now for a huge night out, but you must have a pre-party cocktail, and the HI-SO bar on the 29th floor is the best place to go.
Rub shoulders with other beautiful people as you watch the sunset over the park. The vibe here is just what you need as you head off into the wilds of Silom.
Recovery Options
You’re probably starving if you’ve been out dancing all night in Silom Soi 2 and are just getting back to the hotel. The Red Oven is open for buffet breakfast from 6 am.
SO/ Sunday Brunch
If you happen to be staying (or just partying in Bangkok) on a Saturday night, the SO/ Sunday Brunch is the perfect way to refuel. Open from 12 pm to 3 pm, feast on as much premium seafood, foie gras, and Peking duck (just for example) as your stomach can handle.
Hi Tea at SO/ Bangkok
Who doesn’t love a high tea? SO/ Bangkok takes it one step further. A Chocolab Hi-Tea has its entire base around Belgian couverture chocolate. That sugar kick is just what you need after a night out. Hi-Tea is served at the Chocolab Cafe from 1 pm to 5 pm.
For those of you wanting a more traditional Hi-Tea, the Mixo Club on the 9th floor offers classic sandwiches, pastries, and a selection of coffees and teas every day from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
Party AT the SO/ Bangkok
Sometimes, the thought of leaving the hotel is just too much, right? Plan your stay at the SO/ Bangkok cleverly, and if you’re here on the last Saturday of the month, the party is at your door — well, on your roof, to be precise.
The SO Pool Party at the Water Club on the 10th floor is Bangkok’s most popular one, and we know why. World-famous DJs play there, and it’s 8 hours of wet fun with activities thrown in.
Award-winning mixologists create drinks that’ll blow your mind, and the kitchen provides the most incredible snacks and finger food. Get your favorite speedos ready and be prepared to party from 1 pm to 9 pm.
Eat, Drink, Play
There you have it! Before heading out for the night, or even once you get back, SO/ Bangkok has everything you need in the way of food and drink; why go anywhere else?
Start the night off with a buffet dinner at Red Oven or healthy Japanese at SOSHI. Then head up to the 29th floor for your sunset cocktail before jumping in a Tuk-Tuk and taking on Silom.
Looking for recovery options? SO/ Bangkok offers Sunday brunch or two different Hi-Tea concepts.
Don’t forget the pool party on the last Saturday of the month. See you there!
