A social media post from content creator @lesbianmomshowsyouhow has gone viral with some welcome travel advice. In it, she offers her suggestions for the top seven beaches in the world for lesbians.

Here’s her countdown.

7. “Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Don’t forget to visit The Paradise complex.”

The Paradise is a buzzy collection of gay bars and clubs open each evening.

6. “Maspalomas Beach in the Canary Islands, famous for its gorgeous sand dunes.”

4. “Es Cavallet in Ibiza, Spain, known for its crystal clear waters and magnificent sand dunes.”

2. “Skala Eressos beach in Lesbos, Greece, which is the birthplace of the poet Sappho, and is regarded as a global sanctuary for lesbians.”

1. “My personal favorite, that I’ve been to more times than I can count over the years, is Herring Cove beach in Provincetown, Massachusetts. And if you enter through the main entrance and turn left, that’s where the designated lesbian and women section is.”

    The video picked up thousands of likes on TikTok and Instagram. In the comments, some suggested other destinations.

    “Jacob Riis Beach (New York City). It’s queer af. Trans friendly as well,” said one. “It’s a delightful mixture of the rainbow – when you get there the further left you go the gayer it gets (seriously). I go there every year for my b day and get a nice t-tty tan.”

    Someone else suggested Hanlan’s Point beach in Toronto, Canada. Sadly, both Jacob Riis and Hanlan’s Point are facing challenges, with property developers making changes at the former and erosion chipping away at the latter.

    Further lesbian beach ideas

    A couple of people picked California destinations, with one pointing to Laguna Beach (a popular suggestion), and another to Ginger Rogers Beach (“Lifeguard Towers 17 and 18 at Will Rogers State Beach in Los Angeles”).

    On TikTok, several people suggested Rehoboth Beach in Delaware as particularly queer-friendly. However, possibly the reason it wasn’t included on this list is that it topped another recent video from the same content creator. In that one, she lists her top six “underrated LGBTQ vacation spots in the US.”

    That list includes:

    • Saugatuck, Michigan
    • Eureka Springs, Arkansas
    • Columbus, Ohio
    • Guerneville, California
    • New Hope, Pennsylvania
    • Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (taking the number one spot)
