Kim Mulkey is quite possibly the biggest personality in women’s college basketball.
Sure, there’s Dawn Staley, Geno Auriemma and others. Yet nobody seems to break through with their outfit choices and antics quite like LSU Tigers women’s head basketball coach Kim Mulkey.
So it shouldn’t be a big surprise that a couple comedians in Los Angeles — the “other” LA — have garnered attention in the last couple years poking some good-natured fun at Mulkey.
This season, the fake Kim Mulkey is a neighbor in L.A. — seems to be Venice — and she is, well, she’s Kim Mulkey.
As “Mulkey” says in the video, “Love they neighbor as thyself.” That apparently includes rearranging the garbage bins for said neighbor.

Though as one “innocent” Mulkey neighbor and video participant said: “I don’t think I’ve ever had a neighbor like Kim Mulkey. … She’s… scary?”
Of course, as we’ve already documented, Mulkey wins lots and lots of women’s college basketball games, even though she might not make basketball fun… on a pick-up court… 1,500 miles away from LSU…
And apparently, according to the women’s college basketball bible from the Book of Pat Summit 1:4:
“I believe that I will win
I love my Tigers
We will not stop
Until we win
We will not stop
Until we win.”
Mulkey played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers and for legendary women’s college basketball head coach Pat Summit.
Again, just quoting the Book of Pat Summit, Chapter 1, verse 4. And maybe verse 5 too.
Something we at Outsports have to acknowledge is the inclusion Mulkey has made for two out gay people on her team. After Brittney Griner made some pretty serious allegations of homophobia against Mulkey, as did at least one other former player, the coach has been viewed as a problem for the LGBTQ community.

According to Brittney Griner, LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey had a problem with gays. Now with Milaysia Fulwiley, no problem.
Mulkey recruited MiLaysia Fulwiley to join her LSU Tigers roster as a player. Fulwiley was coming off the bench for the rival South Carolina Gamecocks and Dawn Staley. Now she’s coming off the bench for the LSU Tigers and Mulkey, but she’s poised to take over the team next season.
Fulwiley is publicly out as gay, and (either currently or formerly) in a relationship with track star JaMeesia Ford.
In addition, Mulkey recruited Seimone Augustus onto her coaching staff. Augustus is one of the greatest players in WNBA history and probably the best college basketball player to ever play for LSU. And yes, that includes Shaquille O’Neal.
The LSU Tigers have a legit shot at the National Championship entering the Sweet 16. The team won its first two March Madness games by a combined 217-105, breaking 100 points both games.
