Here’s why this gay influencer got canceled for “attending” The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere
Santos Walker fooled a lot of people!

AI has already come for our jobs, relationships, dating apps, and even Liza Minnelli.
But just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, artificial intelligence went to the one place where we expected humans — especially LGBTQ+ ones — couldn’t be replaced: The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere.
Influencer Santos Walker and his boyfriend Caleb Ellis are getting canceled for attending the premiere —because they are not real!
Yup! We are simultaneously fuming, cracking TF up, and checking all our followers for a pulse.

Fake guy, real followers
The disturbing innovation came to light the morning after the highly anticipated TDWP sequel premiered. Mikelle Street, a queer editor and writer, was scrolling through Instagram and noticed something off about two gay men who shared photos from the red carpet.
“I’m gagging,” he wrote in a post on Twitter X. “Scrolling through Instagram and I came across a whole group of AI models/accounts. Two are gay, in a relationship, and ‘attended’ the Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere last night. What are we doing here?”
Honestly, a great question. Although AI-generated twinks have been tricking Gay Twitter X elders for years now, this seems to be one of the first instances of artificial models “attending” an IRL event. And, presumably, taking an opportunity away from, you know, an actual human.

The fact that it’s an LGBTQ+ couple only adds insult to injury.
Because, yes, AI can get a boyfriend and you can’t. LOL.

Canceled
Understandably, the girls, gays, and theys were reasonably pissed off at not only the existence of another AI hunk, but one who theoretically got the chance to breathe the same air as Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. That should be us!!!
But the blowback was swift.
Before today, Santos Walker — whose IG bio read “Digital Nomad. Art imitating Life. Artificial yet Intelligent. LA” — had more than 60,000 Instagram followers and 84 pics.

After Street’s post began to go viral, Walker’s profile was either closed by its owner or reported and taken down, while his AI boyfriend Caleb Ellis’ account settings were switched to private. Bye, bot!
That said, his X account, where he has over 20,000 followers and frequently shares pics nearly taking it all off — we cannot stress this enough — ARTIFICIALLY generated thirst traps remains online.

At this time, it’s unclear why Walker’s account disappeared and whether or not whoever generated his pics was working with the marketing team at Disney/20th Century Studios, who’s distributing The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Walker had also tagged Tom Ford in the post, wanting everyone to believe his fake blue suit was designed by the fashion house.
Identity theft
Regardless, it’s an icky sentiment that a completely nonexistent presence, designed to appeal to a minority community like queer folks, could be used to push physical products or promote an IRL event.
“We are at the precipice of automation taking over nearly every industry and our society having to decide if we will collectively let this stand or not,” a user named @BobbyKingDeal wrote in response to the reveal.
Furthermore, accounts like Santos Walker aren’t the harmless bulked-up and muscle-y objects of thirst they may appear to be.
As several people pointed out, creators frequently steal “photos of real people” to generate this content.

Of course, the most ironic part of the situation is that The Devil Wears Prada 2 reportedly dives into the state of media, which is fighting to exist amid the rise of artificial intelligence.
And, honestly, if Miranda Priestly were real, she’d probably tell Santos Walker to grab a cerulean sweater and cover up for once in his AI-generated life.
Gird your loins
Whether or not the Santos Walker account returns, it doesn’t really matter.
Pandora’s box of thirsty AI-generated gay dudes has already been opened, and there are too many similar accounts out there to count, following unsuspecting LGBTQ+ people and posting pics with captions like “By popular demand
.” Ew.
That said, there are a handful of tips you can follow to make sure you’re not engaging with or following an AI model, according to TENz Magazine.
Users can watch out for “skin that looks hyper-smooth” and “too perfect bodies,” look at when an account was created, and examine said account’s motives, like if they’re trying to fundraise money or offer giveaways.
And if all else fails, try calling them out for being hot and attending The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere. Apparently, that works out quite nicely. Thank you Mikelle Street for your service!
