There is a chill in the air, and you know what that means: ’tis the season for gay men’s chorus end-of-the-year holiday concerts. Gay men’s choruses perform year-round, but the winter holiday concerts draw the big crowds, filling theaters, churches, and concert halls with fans who enjoy all-male vocal harmonies and a splash of jazz hands and general gay festivity.
The first official “gay men’s chorus” was formed in 1978 in San Francisco, and there are now groups in every major city in North America, as well as many groups across Europe. (Brighton, England has two separate gay men’s choruses, so there must be a dramatic story about that situation…)
Some of these choruses are small, and they are just groups of friends who like to sing. And then some choruses, like Turtle Creek Chorale in Dallas-Fort Worth, are massive organizations that record albums. But size doesn’t matter! They all have the holiday spirit and perform their shows to put a smile on people’s faces.
Here are the concerts for the winter holiday season of 2025, with some photos from past concerts, so find the chorus near you and enjoy the show. (We kept the list to just the anglo-centric choruses for now, but there are lots more around the world.) The names of the concerts are sassy and fun – which is your favorite?
