Newly elected right-wing council member quits after hardcore gay side hustle revealed
“I’m proud of what I do, there is no shame.”

A gay man elected as a council member in England just last week has abruptly quit after it emerged he runs spicy social media accounts. They feature hardcore videos of him with other guys.
Stephen Mousdell was elected last week to sit on the council of Haydock in St Helens, near Liverpool.
Mousdell is a member of the right-wing Reform UK party, led by Nigel Farage. The party was only founded in 2018. However, it has quickly risen to prominence. It now has eight MPs in the UK Parliament.
Last week, over 1,200 Reform UK council candidates secured victories in local elections. The party took control of 14 local councils.

Reform UK is not dissimilar to MAGA in its political world view. Its anti-woke, strict anti-immigration policies have won over swathes of disenchanted voters. The party is not known for being LGBTQ-friendly in its policies. Last year, some Reform-led councils banned the flying of the Pride flag on council buildings.
The party now poses a threat to the left-wing Labour government, although no General Election is due for another three years.
LachlanTaylorUK
LBC reported on Wednesday that Stephen Mousdell runs an X account under the name “LachlanTaylorUK”. It features lots of explicit videos, many of which include Mousdell himself.

Some of the videos appear to be filmed in outdoor spaces. Although there is nothing illegal in consenting adults filming their own sexual activity, doing so outdoors could potentially cross a legal line concerning ‘Outraging Public Decency’.
On his social media, Mousdell has never hidden the fact that he’s a gay man and has a partner. He has also not gone to great lengths to disguise his identity on his adult accounts, besides using a different name.
LBC says Mousdell also has an OF account, in which he describes himself as a “gay p*rnstar and DJ”. His X account says he has a liking for “workies, truckers, bears, stocky blokes” and invites others to get in touch to “collab” with him and his partner.
His X account has now been locked to private.

“Consenting adults”
Midweek, a spokesperson for Reform UK dismissed the news story as irrelevant. They told LBC, “While Cllr Mousdell’s lifestyle choices may not be to everyone’s taste, he has not broken the law. What consenting adults do in their private lives is their own business.
“The electorate were fully aware of Cllr Mousdell’s lifestyle choices weeks before the election and still decided to elect Stephen as their councillor.
“Cllr Mousdell is an asset to his local community, even receiving the St Helens Mayor’s Good Citizen Award for his services to the borough.”
Mousdell quits
However, Mousdell has since decided to quit.
In a statement posted to Facebook today, Mousdell said: “Recently, things have come out with regard to myself and my partner. We have always been transparent about it and not ashamed of what we do.
“We have full time jobs and also have adult professions, in which we abide by all EU and UK laws.”
Mousdell said he and his partner had “never broken any laws or put anything into dispute. We also follow high standards in which we follow social media community guidelines and also keeping up to date with the ever changing UK online safety act.
“It is with sincere regret I am resigning as Reform councillor for Haydock Ward. This is due to the immense pressures from the media, from individuals within the town hall, from certain parties and individuals who were not elected as councillor over a conflict of interest with regards to being a public figure in office and doing the Adult profession.”
“A shame that my profession doesn’t fit in”
Mousdell continued: “I was told to apologise to the public and stop doing what i was doing if i was in for a chance of staying being a councillor but i refused because i have done no wrong doing and i’m not lying just to stay in office. I am, who i am. I’m proud of what i do, there is no shame of it and i am proud to be a gay individual in this community.”
He added, “I wish to thank everyone at Reform UK and Reform St Helens branch and hope for the very best future. I want to also say thank you for giving me this great opportunity and welcoming me into the reform family but It is a shame that my profession doesn’t fit in with the standards to become councillor in the St Helens Town Hall.
“Regardless of party… reform, labour, conservative and the independents, that i met in the short time were lovely people and deserve full respect. They are all doing what they think is best for their community. I wish them all the best future and i hope you can all work together.
“This is me signing off now but i want to say to the vast community that has been supporting me …
“THANK YOU and FAREWELL”
Gay lawmaker could become next UK Prime Minister
Since Reform UK’s victories last week, many within the government have called upon Prime Minister Kier Starmer to resign. Some members of Starmer’s own party believe he is partly to blame and have said it is time for a leadership contest.
One of these is Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who is gay. Streeting resigned from his role yesterday. In his resignation letter to Starmer, Streeting said, “where we need vision, we have a vacuum. Where we need direction, we have drift.”
If he can secure support among fellow Labour MPs, Streeting may now launch a bid to challenge Starmer for the Prime Minister role.
