If there was any doubt about how badly JD Vance messed up, this crushes it

You know you're on the wrong side of history when this happens

Vice President and noted leg crosser JD Vance continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons, and his latest gaffe is drawing criticism from some quite unexpected places.

Last week, after ICE officers shot lesbian mother Renee Nicole in the face for no apparent reason, Vance called a press conference in an attempt to do damage control. But, true to form, the inept VP only managed to make things worse.

Instead of expressing grief for the loss of Good’s life, Vance doubled down on the defense of the ICE agent whose incompetence ended the young woman’s life.

“That woman was there to interfere with a legitimate law enforcement operation,” Vance stated, further claiming—erroneously—that the ICE agent who fired was “doing his job” and is protected by “absolute immunity.”

How about we take this to the next level?

The brutal footage of the interaction is widespread and easily available for the millions of viewers interested in fact-checking claims around the agent simply “doing his job.” But Vance and the administration remain so desperate to justify their actions that they’ve invented a truly reprehensible smear campaign around Good being an “AWFUL” (Affluent White Female Urban Liberal) as well as a “bad mother.”

No one is buying it, thankfully, and to make things even worse for Vance, he’s just gained a very vocal critic in…Casey Anthony??

That’s right: the woman previously accused of the murder of her daughter Caylee is accusing JD Vance of being the scum of the Earth, which was…not on our bingo card!

“There is no such thing as a federal law enforcement officer having immunity because it is convenient for you and this Administration,” Anthony posted on Substack and social media last week in the wake of the tragedy. “This applies to your Gestapo agents in ICE.”

Nobody expected tabloid sensation Casey Anthony to come out as the voice of moral reason in this case, but here we are. 2026 is already off to an insane-making start.

Commenters were quick to express their shock at this twisty turn of events. “Right message,” one wrote, “HELLA WRONG messenger.”

“Just a reminder,” another commenter chimed in. “We are not agreeing with Casey Anthony, Casey Anthony is agreeing with us.”

Normally, there would be no reason to take into account what Anthony has to say on this or any other matter. But in light of Vance’s unconscionable defense of an ICE agent’s murder of a civilian, even people who have done the most morally questionable things possible are showing up to full-throatedly condemn the VP, which should tell you everything you need to know about Vance’s own morality.

New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie summed up the situation well. “I think that JD Vance is a contemptible little pig man,” he says in a recent TikTok, “and part of my view that he is a contemptible little pig man is…that he loves to gobble up the slop.”

He sure does—specifically Tr*mp’s slop.

The right loves to talk about left wing conspiracies and “humiliation rituals” involving Hollywood actors being forced to slay the house down boots in skirts and heels. But the true humiliation ritual, as Bouie points out, is hidden in plain sight. Vance was chosen for this role not because of his qualifications (nonexistent) but because of his unparalleled ability to eat sh*t for a corrupt, violent ruling party.

“I think the administration knows that it messed up,” Bouie says. “It’s why they’re trying to cover up the investigation using the FBI, it’s why the president hasn’t be out front…Vance was sent out to be the sin eater for the administration in this regard.”

Vance might be fine with that for the present—but when even Casey Anthony thinks you’ve crossed a moral line, it’s probably time to reevaluate your priorities.
