[PHOTOS] São Paulo Pride 2025: A celebration of love, community, and fierce looks

Your front-row access to the glitter and glam at the world's largest pride parade in São Paulo.

If you were anywhere near Avenida Paulista in Brazil’s most populous city of São Paulo on Sunday, June 22, you probably heard the clack of fans and thrilled cheers echoing through the air. It was intoxicating and undeniably empowering. That’s São Paulo Pride Parade for you–it’s the world’s largest, drawing in over 2 million attendees this year.

The 2025 parade was as vibrant as always, but this year’s theme brought an extra layer of depth. Titled “LGBT+ Aging: Memory, Resistance, and Future,” the event paid tribute to the older generation of the LGBTQ+ community, many of whom fought battles to make Brazil and many other parts of the world better for the community.

From the speeches that opened the parade to the 17 rainbow-adorned floats featuring people over 60 in prominent roles, this was a call to remember, honor, and continue the fight they began. The message was clear and powerful: today’s freedoms are built on yesterday’s bravery, and everyone, regardless of age, deserves visibility and joy.

The São Paulo Pride festivities weren’t confined to just the main parade. The week leading up to the parade saw the Diversity Cultural Fair. This two-day event was a blend of artistic performances, handicrafts, and resources from local organizations, creating a space for celebration and connection.

Additionally, the outdoor Castro Festival brought pulsating energy with live music and DJs, while the after-parties, like High Pride, gave attendees a chance to dance the night away.
