Denver’s NBC affiliate reports:

Denver police are investigating an act of vandalism at a facility that provides services and advocacy for the LGBTQ community. The alarm system was triggered, and the person left the scene before the police arrived. The Center on Colfax hosts a variety of programming for the LGBTQ community, including social events, support groups, art and movement classes and educational opportunities.

Saturday morning programming was canceled out of caution, according to the release, but no future programming will be canceled. “Our commitment is unwavering — this is what resilience looks like. We will not disappear,” the release said.

The front windows are currently boarded up as The Center on Colfax works on repairs and makes additional investments in safety and security, the release said. Across the boards are the messages “You won’t break our soul” and “Broken windows never break community.”
