Amber Glenn wants her own “Heated Rivalry.”
The out figure skating star, who won a gold medal in the team event with the USA at the Milan Winter Olympics, graced the red carpet at the GLAAD Media Awards Thursday night in Los Angeles. And yes, she wore that gorgeous, glistening gold medal.
Not surprising, “Heated Rivalry” was a big theme at the GLAAD Awards, with series star Connor Storrie in the house to accept the award for Outstanding New TV Series, along with series creator Jacob Tierney, producer Brendan Brady and other series actors Robbie G.K., Nadine Bhabha, François Arnaud and Christina Chang.

Amber Glenn skating to Madonna in Italy meant more than any jump
Amber Glenn skated at the Winter Olympics in Milan to Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer,’ 35 years after the church tried to cancel it.
“I watched it at the Olympics and I want Yuri ‘Heated Rivalry,'” she answered. “Yuri” is a Japanese term referring to female love.
Then Glenn added this plea:
“Please hire me so I can fall in love with my co-star please.”
Access Hollywood host Zuri Hall asked Glenn if she were serious, and if she’d be “down to make a cameo.”
Glenn put on her very, super serious face.
“Uuuhhhhhh, yeah,” she replied.
Glenn also revealed that she hasn’t had a lot of time to properly celebrate her Olympic success, as she’s back on the competition road. Though she shared the story of going out with the USA women’s hockey team after they won their gold and celebrating the night before the Closing Ceremony.
She also shared her McDonald’s binge: French fries and an Oreo McFlurry.
“You dip the fries in the McFlurry,” Glenn said.
That’s a choice!
Outsports had been nominated for a GLAAD Award for a 10th time — for our “Being Out” video series — but didn’t come away with the prize.
This will be one of the many ways Amber Glenn will be feted in the coming weeks and months, along with everyone associated with “Heated Rivalry,” for quite a life-changing year.
Glenn finished fifth in the women’s singles competition at the Winter Olympics after winning her third straight national championship.
