Connor Storrie is Celebrating His First Emmy Nomination: ‘Feels Incredibly Surreal’

Connor Storrie’s incredible year just reached another major milestone.

The 26-year-old actor, who became a breakout star thanks to the queer hockey drama Heated Rivalry, has earned his first-ever Emmy nomination. Rather than being recognized for his fan-favorite performance as Ilya Rozanov, Storrie received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series after hosting Saturday Night Live earlier this year.

Storrie hosted the Feb. 28 episode of the iconic sketch comedy series alongside musical guest Mumford & Sons. During the episode, he reunited with his Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams for a hockey-inspired sketch set, fittingly, on an ice skating rink.

Reflecting on the nomination, Storrie shared his excitement in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Other actors nominated for the category include Michael J. Fox for Shrinking, Brett Goldstein for Shrinking, Hamish Linklater for Widow’s Bay, Christopher McDonald for Hacks, and Rob Reiner for The Bear. Why Heated Rivalry Wasn’t Eligible

Although Heated Rivalry became one of the year’s biggest television success stories, the series was not eligible for Emmy consideration because it is a fully Canadian-financed production. Instead, the show competed at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, where it dominated the ceremony with 16 wins, including Best Drama Series, Best Lead Performer for Hudson Williams, and honors for directing, writing, and supporting performances.

As an American actor, Storrie was not eligible for individual acting recognition at the Canadian Screen Awards. A Breakout Year Continues

Since Heated Rivalry premiered, Storrie’s career has accelerated rapidly. Alongside appearances in Criminal Minds: Evolution, he is set to appear in the upcoming A24 comedy Peaked, directed by Molly Gordon and written by Saturday Night Live writer Allie Levitan.

Off-screen, Storrie and Williams have become one of television’s most talked-about duos. The pair have presented at the Golden Globe Awards, participated in the 2026 Olympic Torch Relay, and made their Met Gala debut. Storrie has also landed major luxury fashion partnerships, including ambassador roles with Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co. What’s Next for Heated Rivalry?

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see Storrie back on the ice.

Heated Rivalry has already been renewed for a second season, with production expected to begin this summer. The new season will continue Shane and Ilya’s story by adapting Rachel Reid’s novels The Long Game and Role Model, with a spring 2027 release currently planned.

The 77th Emmy Awards will take place on Sept. 12, with the Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies scheduled for Sept. 5 and Sept. 6, where Storrie’s category will be presented.
