Drag Race: Lemon responds to fans upset over Canada vs the World season 2 cast

Lemon has pushed back against fans who are annoyed over the returning queens in Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World season two.

On 26 June, Crave and WOW Presents Plus announced the nine international contestants that are set to go head-to-head for the coveted crown and ‘Queen of the Mother-Pucking World’ title.

The cast includes Alexis Mateo (Drag Race US), Cheryl Hole (Drag Race UK), Eureka (Drag Race US), Kennedy Davenport (Drag Race US), La Kahena (Drag Race France), Le Fil (Drag Race UK), Lemon (Canada’s Drag Race), Miss Fiercalicious (Canada’s Drag Race), and Tynomi Banks (Canada’s Drag Race).

While many Drag Race viewers embraced the exciting announcement, a handful of fans expressed disappointment over the inclusion of queens who have competed in the franchise numerous times.

One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “Why the same queens everytime…”

Another fan echoed similar sentiments, writing: “Bring some new queens in next time, please.”

A third Drag Race viewer added: “Eureka and Alexis for the 4th time. We are tired. If one of them makes it to the finale, might as just hand the crown over to them.”

In response to the criticism, fan-favourite Lemon – whose upcoming appearance will mark her second time competing in a vs the World franchise – took to her X account to shut down the haters in a series of tweets.

After praising her “sickening” Canada vs the World season two castmates, Lemon delivered one final cheeky message to the naysayers.

“But also, I’m BACK bitch. Nothing u can do about it being bitter is supposed to be my thing.”

Of course, fans were quick to shower the talented performer with praise, with one individual responding: “Let them be even more bitter when you win the crown!”

Ra’Jah O’Hara memorably triumphed on the first season of Canada vs the World, winning $100,000. The same cash prize is expected for her successor.

The new batch of episodes will be streaming on Crave in Canada, BBC Three in the UK and WOW Presents Plus in other territories starting on 19 July.
