Harrison Butker confirms he meant every cruel, homophobic, sexist word he said

Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker who made cruel comments at Benedictine College that were sexist, homophobic and transphobic, again made it clear he meant every single bigoted word he said in that speech.

Speaking at Chiefs training camp this week, he told reporters that he prayed a lot about what he was going to say in that speech, and that he chose his words very intentionally.

“I’m going to stand behind what I’m saying,” he made clear.

Butker’s comments generated a firestorm of controversy in May when he said women will be happiest staying in the kitchen and serving their man. When he talked about the concept of a human being’s pride, he slammed the LGBTQ community.

“Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it,” he said about Pride Month this June, “but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him.”

Harrison Butker attacks Pride month and trans people, tells women to get back in the kitchen
Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker seems to want America to return to the 1950s when gays hid in shame and women served men.

The Chiefs recently made Butker the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, with a four-year, $25.6 million contract.

Butker said that he was saying “what I believe to be very important.” While some people who are racists, sexists and homophobes may prefer to keep those thoughts to themselves lest they hurt others, Butker is emboldened to share his bigotry publicly and say terrible things about gay people and women.

He then went into the whole nonsense about loving the people you’re saying horrific things about.

“I want people to know that no matter what I say — it might be the complete opposite of you — I’m still going to love you no matter what your opinions are, no matter how different we may be,” he said. “I’m going to love you and we’re going to get along and probably be good friends.”

Yes, telling women they belong in the kitchen, and telling gay people they are a deadly sin, is a great way to start off a loving relationship.

Butker has three children with his wife, at least one girl and at least one boy. Here’s hoping none of them are gay and have to listen to their father’s blatant homophobia.
