JD Vance’s humiliation escalates after Iowa bribe plot resurfaces
If Vance thinks this move is going to help his image problems, he'd better think again.

JD Vance is having a terrible week as usual, but it’s about to get a whole lot worse. Yesterday, his childhood bully came after him with receipts. Today, he’s facing a fresh scandal concerning a rally that people reportedly had to be bribed to attend.
Surprising? Not really. We’re talking about Vance here, the guy who couldn’t put butts in seats during last month’s TPUSA speaking gig where the few attendees saw fit to heckle the VP instead of cheer him on.
Less than a month later, Vance is getting busted for having to actually pay people to show up to a rally in Des Moines, Iowa. Or at least, a lobbyist in big ethanol’s pocket was—which doesn’t reflect too well on Vance’s popularity.
“Gentlemen, Jake Swanson here,” the lobbyist wrote in a mass text targeting college students. “I wanted to invite you to join me in seeing Vice President JD Vance this afternoon in Des Moines. I do some work for an ethanol company and so if you’re able to join, I will give you $100, and for anyone that you recruit, an additional $25. No limit on referrals, so if someone recruits a group of 20 to show up, that’s $500.”
How about we take this to the next level?

We already knew that Vance was a poor pick for the 2028 race, but this takes the VP’s humiliation to a whole new level. Though Vance officially denies having any involvement in the scheme, it’s definitely an embarrassing reality to contend with when even the people in your corner know that you’re so rizzless you’ve got to actually line peoples’ pockets to get them to sit through your speech.
As for, Swanson he denied that the money came from ethanol interests, saying that he wanted to bring “Iowa State kids to the rally to celebrate all the things Trump-Vance have done for biofuels.” He also said that bribing college kids to go to Vance rallies is just something he does in his free time, for fun.
OK, girl!
Whatever Swanson’s motives, the scheme worked, and local news praised Vance’s ability to pack the house… though the house wasn’t that packed, even with the paid attendees. If only they’d known how much it cost to create this particular MAGA illusion. It’s especially interesting when you think about how many times Tr*mp has claimed that anti-ICE and anti-GOP protestors are “paid agitators.”
As the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and the cost of living keeps skyrocketing in a failing economy, money definitely talks. But it doesn’t talk that much.
“I need money really bad,” one commenter wrote, “but not that bad.”
“I’d need at least $1000,” another chimed in.
“Bro bought views IRL,” someone else pointed out.
He sure did! Even if Vance had no part in this, as his office claims, it can’t be a confidence boost for the already unpopular VP. That said, do we feel bad for him? Not a chance! He signed up for this job and now he’s left to do Tr*mp’s dirty work and watch his reputation suffer for it.
Currently, he’s the one rolling out the administration’s disastrous plan to cut medicaid reimbursements to California as part of their vendetta against Democratic governor Gavin Newsom… to the tune of $1.3 billion.
If Vance thinks this move is going to help his image problems, he’d better think again.
