[PHOTOS] The 22 most extraordinary and sexiest outfits from Mexico City Pride
Mexico City's Pride was a fashion riot with revelers in elaborate costumes and skimpy underwear. Here are all the photos we took.
From costumes and queens to almost nothing, Mexico City Pride was a riot of fashion and fun.
While last year’s event was more of a protest march than a celebration, organizers returned to a more typical Pride this year. The joy was palpable as hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ+ people from around the country took to one of the city’s main arteries, Paseo de la Reforma, to strut their stuff.
Sexuality and gender were proudly on display. There was even a free phallic mechanical bull ride. The line for bottoms with danger on their minds stretched down the street. (Yes, there’s a photo in the slideshow.)
But also mixed in with the crowd were families – especially parents accompanying their queer kids to mix and mingle. Some wore matching outfits, while others sported shirts proclaiming their pride in their child, regardless of age.
Free Mom Hugs is a worldwide phenomenon as women of all ages embrace anyone who walks up and asks.
Disney characters were popular, with muscle studs dressed as Snow White and the Little Mermaid and queens decked out as Ursula, Maleficent, and Scar.
The drag outfits would put the RuPaul queens to shame with some of the most elaborate ensembles ever assembled. And, of course, the twinks proudly showed off their slender bodies and blew kisses at anyone who showed them attention.
The parade lasted about 8 hours and ended at Zócalo with free concerts, dancing, and drinking. After all that merriment, many folks took a timeout to sit down at bus stations and on curbs to regroup before the festivities continued.
