5 trans & non-binary travel influencers who will help you find the trips of your dreams
Looking for trans influencers to help spark that sense of adventure? We've got you covered.
There’s a whole world out there. Knowing where to start and what to do when you get there can be daunting. But when you’re trans, non-binary, or gender-non-conforming, that challenge can be exponentially more difficult.
What are the best places to eat, and are they LGBTQ+ owned? What are those key spots for queer history in a city I’ve never been to before? If I want nightlife, where can I find people like me?
And, of course, the big question: Will I feel safe enough to enjoy the travel of my dreams?

Chase has been traveling for over a decade and started prioritizing queer spaces after coming out in 2020. Their content focuses on finding queer joy in places and also highlights the safest places to travel while trans right now.
Chase conducts deep-dive explorations of the United States, with trips around the world as well. In their videos (or slide shows if you don’t fancy sound), they highlight queer-owned businesses, history, and the best things to do and eat in cities or on planned road trips. They’re also expecting a child this year, so expect some cool queer parenting content too.
They partner with some state tourism boards to help show the best queer spots in the area. On their Linktree, you’ll even find queer Airbnb recs, an Amazon Storefront full of travel must-haves, and other resources to help with traveling while trans, from info on your rights to a tool for finding affirming salons and barbers.
2. Kenna Kief

Kenna Kief is a trans woman who has been traveling the world solo on a spiritual journey, exploring cultures and traditions, and observing how people in those settings respond to her gender identity.
Kief’s content is quick and fun on TikTok and Instagram, but she also does longer-form videos on YouTube. While some travel influencers offer ideas for what to do on a weekend, Kief’s experiences often span longer periods, offering a more detailed look at a location.
She’s also written up a set of top tips for traveling while trans, from airports to hormones. And she talks about dating as a trans person across different countries in her vlogs as well, if that’s something you’re looking for.
3. Maartje Hensen (Once Upon A Journey)
Maartje Hensen is a non-binary, polyamorous travel writer and photographer behind the travel blog Once Upon a Journey. They haven’t been posting as much direct travel content just recently, but there’s a wealth to check out. They’re well-versed in everything queer-travel related, and that is on display in their 2023 book, The Pride Atlas: 500 Iconic Destinations for Queer Travelers.
“On my travels, I (un)learn from others, submerge myself in all cultures*, try traditional cuisine, wander in nature, and roam around cities. I love meeting the local LGBTQ+ community and hearing about their experiences and favorite places. In addition, I am always looking to support queer-owned businesses.”
4. The Goldon Queers
Sam and Justine are a queer couple who define their work as “the intersection of outdoor adventures, queer/trans visibility & vulnerable chats.” That’s a good descriptor, and they’re a great follow for fantastic views and outdoor activities. But they also post narratives alongside their pictures about the adventures and journeys they’re on, both through their travels and their lives in general.
But beyond that, they’re an ideal follow if you want to travel more but don’t know where to start. Through Trovatrip, they host vacations that you can join. They’ve done seven of these so far, and their eighth is “Queers in South Africa with Justine & Sam.” It can feel overwhelming to start traveling by yourself or just with a partner when trans or non-binary. So why not start as a group?
5. Linds Cale
Linds Cale refers to themselves as gender-non-conforming, but it’s not clear whether they actually identify with the terms trans or non-binary. However, they are included in this list because their content is fantastic and a huge help to trans travelers, either way. Cale is an influencer, travel writer, and guide.
Cale wrote a great piece on “What it’s like traveling the world as a gender non-conforming person” that will resonate with many and provides some great perspective. Their Instagram features great photos, some chill jokes, and wonderful recommendations for where and what to eat.
And, like with the Golden Queers, Cale leads LGBTQ+ group travel expeditions so you can be with the community.
