Olympic medalist figure skater Adam Rippon and Emmy-winning broadcaster Chase Cain are coming together to host a podcast highlighting Olympic hopefuls ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.

The duo are the hosts for the “My New Favorite Olympian” podcast, and later “My New Favorite Paralympian,” which feature various Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls each episode. NBC has created the award-winning “My New Favorite” podcast series to highlight athletes in upcoming NBC sports broadcasts, including the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

“Participating in the Olympics can be a wonderful platform for those who are committed to making a difference and helping others, and this series shines a light on them before the competition gets underway,” said Rippon. “It’s a real privilege to contribute to this project and share the fascinating stories of several tremendous athletes who’ll be representing our country in Italy. I’ll be rooting for them all to bring home medals.”

NBC has told Outsports that Rippon will be back at the Olympics in Milan, though they didn’t share in what capacity. Rippon worked for NBC for the 2024 Summer Olympics, though he reported on the events in Paris from Connecticut.

“We introduce you to Team USA athletes who have such compelling stories about how they reached the highest levels in their sports,” Cain told Outsports. “You’ll get to know them on a more personal level, learning about the obstacles they overcame — everything from the journey to motherhood, overcoming illness and what it means to come out as an Olympic athlete.”

Outsports is able to exclusively confirm that at least one of the athletes will be from the LGBTQ community: Two-time defending U.S. National Champion figure skater Amber Glenn.

It’s also of note that NBC chose two publicly out gay men to host their podcast headed to the 2026 Winter Olympics. Adam Rippon was an out gay athlete and bronze medalist at the 2018 Winter Olympics — later named Outsports Person of the Year in 2018. The Winter Games four years ago had at least 36 publicly out LGBTQ athletes, including six from Team USA: Jason Brown, Amber Glenn, Timothy LeDuc, Alex Carpenter, Andrew Blaser and Brittany Bowe.

Chase Cain is a meteorologist and climate reporter for NBC News. Like Rippon, he’s based in Southern California and has taken opportunities to elevate the LGBTQ community, including sports, when he can.

Cain told Outsports it was a hoot working with Rippon, calling it a “dream.”

“It was a dream to cohost this series with Adam,” Cain said. “He added unique, personal, and often hilarious insights that could come from a former Winter Olympian.

“I won’t spoil the surprises, but you’ll definitely be laughing at some of the unexpected turns in our conversations.”

Outsports will be covering the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, including our award-winning coverage of Team LGBTQ, which will feature stories and results from all of the publicly out gay, lesbian, bi and trans athletes competing at the Games.
