Andrew Scott has no idea you’re horny for him: “I don’t have the internet”
The Irish actor doesn't see all of the fan response to his roles. But perhaps it's for the best?

Andrew Scott always manages to hold our attention, whether it’s in priest cassocks or a jockstrap. But despite the reactions from hot-and-bothered fans, he rarely sees them.
Earlier this month, the Irish actor went viral after a clip from his upcoming comedy series It Gets Worse surfaced onto the internet. In the clip, Scott’s character tells another character, played by Leo Reich, “you’re just a hole for daddy” before spitting in his mouth.
During a recent interview with Variety following the Telluride premiere of his new film Elsinore, Scott shared that he’s not online, and therefore doesn’t often see fans reactions to viral clips of his.

“I don’t have the internet. I never see it,” he said. “It’s actually wild: You never know what feral things people [will say].”
Perhaps it’s for the best that Scott doesn’t see everyone’s reactions. While many often praise his acting chops, a lot of the responses can be unhinged.
“i need this done to me immediately,” wrote one person on X in response to the , “preferably by andrew scott but i’ll take what i can get.”
While Scott is openly gay, and plays a gay therapist in It Gets Worse, the clip is causing everyone to feel things. “I’m a lesbian,” wrote one person on Threads. “Can’t stop watching the Andrew Scott video. I fear he has transcended my sexuality like Hudson Williams did.”
“Computah, show me that clip of therapist Andrew Scott for the 5273rd time,” wrote another fan.

Scott has his work cut out for him this year. In addition to It Gets Worse, Elsinore is expected to garner critical acclaim upon its wide release later this year. He’s currently on a festival run with Elsinore, which is based on the true story of Scottish actor Ian Charleson and his final performances as Hamlet at the National Theatre as he was grappling with AIDS.
As Elsinore is a more serious film for Scott, the response from those who have seen it during its festival run has been a bit more subdued. Still, fans are getting creative expressing their reception.
“Andrew Scott is an absolute powerhouse,” wrote one person on X, “a performance so good he could read air fryer recipes instead of Hamlet and still deliver a career best.”
Though it’ll be a while before fans can see Elsinore in theaters, they seem to be digging Scott’s looks at various festival screenings.
“Collecting photos of Andrew Scott promoting ‘Elsinore’ like Pokémon cards,” wrote another fan.
As screenings are underway for Elsinore, some early viewers believer Scott has a good chance at next year’s Academy Awards.
“i’m going to tell you right here and right now that the Oscar race is over and if anybody tries to say otherwise Andrew Scott is winning best actor,” wrote one fan. “It is an immense performance having to balance not just Ian Charleson but Ian Charleson as Hamlet.”
Should Scott win Best Actor, he would make history as the first openly gay actor to win the coveted award.
Elsinore arrives to US theaters on Friday, November 20. A premiere date for It Gets Worse has not yet been announced.
