Omar Apollo has set the record straight about his rumoured beef with Troye Sivan.
Back in June, Apollo released his second studio album, God Said No, fronted by the acclaimed singles ‘Spite ‘, ‘Dispose of Me ‘and ‘Less of You’.
Ahead of its release, the American singer-songwriter told his fans via Twitter/X that he saw “a few twinks complaining” that the album didn’t consist of “loose booty hole music or popper music”.
While he acknowledged that there were “SOME feel good tracks” – particularly the third uptempo single ‘Less of You’ – he said his aim was to “deliver art” with the album.
“Don’t listen and seek to be therapized elsewhere,” he advised the aforementioned twinks, before later asking them to “sort their differences” and stream God Said No.
Shortly after sharing his now-deleted tweet, a handful of X users speculated that Apollo was taking a jab at Sivan and his hit song ‘Rush’ –which leaned heavily into the poppers aesthetic.
In response to the rumours, Apollo returned to his X account on 12 July to clear the air and refute the beef gossip.
“The fact yall think I have beef with Troye Sivan is hilarious, he met my dad, and I met his mom at the last show we played together,” he wrote.
“Very sweet woman. I get it tho, negativity is appealing. I expect nothing less on this app lol he’s always been a great friend.”

It didn’t take long for fans to flock to Apollo’s mentions, where they praised the ‘Want U Around’ singer for shutting down the rumours.
One X user wrote: “People really get so bored and make fake beef outta thin air. Glad he cleared it up quickly instead of letting it disseminate!”
Another fan echoed similar sentiments, writing: “They really tried to start drama from nothing it’s crazy.”
A third fan even called on Apollo to collab with Sivan, tweeting: “I was getting too tired of the fake beef people were creating between you guys. Now, collab thanks.”
Apollo’s recent statement comes a few months after he and Sivan did a joint interview with V Man, where they bonded over their musical beginnings and having stage fright.
“I’ve had moments throughout my life where I’ve had terrible stage fright. And then it kind of went away on tour in like 2019 because I just got used to it and started to feel more confident in the show and everything like that,” Sivan explained.
Apollo echoed similar sentiments, telling the ‘Got Me Started’ singer: “You got to do the self-talk! Run that. It definitely works. It’s a very egotistical move in your head. It’s a switch.
“Once you get off stage, you can turn the switch off. But like, you have to turn it on to where you’re just like ‘Oh, I’m actually the best human on earth.”
God Said No is out now – listen to ‘Pedro’ here or below.
