A homophobic stuntman has discovered that his bigotry comes with a cost after he decided to leave anti-gay comments on Facebook.

The unnamed individual posted comments on the Facebook page of Brooke Teegarden, a social media personality and history writer.

Teegarden focusses on feminist, working class and LGBTQ+ history. As such, she often receives backlash from right-wing men… as well as creepy messages from some guys. She runs the satirical ‘Let’s Not Date’ Facebook page.

On this occasion, a man posted comments beneath a post that Teegarden made about the risk of Supreme Court justices reconsidering same-sex marriage.

He replied, “A marriage is in the eyes of God not for two dudes to s*ck d*ck.”

He then proceeded to scroll through Teegarden’s page to leave further homophobic comments.

Payback

Perusing his profile, Teegarden discovered the man was a “low-level stunt actor”. Investigating further led her to Reddit posts in which he complained about his lack of employment. He wished he could move more into stunt coordinator work, as he was getting too old to perform stunts himself.

Teegarden decided to message the man and offer him work via a newly created email address with a fake name. She posed as a casting coordinator named “Beau Archer”.

The homophobe replied, asking if Beau Archer required a stunt double, fight choreographer, or stunt coordinator.

Teegarden replied with further details, outlining the role and the pay package.

“Gay cousin”

The stuntman expressed interest. He agreed to a Zoom call to discuss more details.

But then… Teegarden hit him with some reality. She wrote a follow-up email canceling the call and rescinding the offer to chat about the role. She said she’d conducted a social media search and come across the man’s public homophobic comments.

Consequently, she said, “We will not be moving forward with you now or in the future.”

At first, the stuntman played dumb and said there must be some “mistake”. Teegarden then sent him screenshots of his public Facebook comments.

Caught off guard, Mr. Stuntman weakly suggested, “I can delete it if that works for you.”

He continued, “Those were jokes actually I can get you references. Got a gay cousin you can talk to.”

His protests fell on deaf ears.

Teegarden made a post on Threads. It’s received over 15k likes. Many applauded her for teaching the man a lesson. Some expressed surprise at the stuntman’s unprofessional email replies.

“I cannot IMAGINE why he’s not getting more work, with these professional and enthusiastic replies ????” quipped one person on Facebook.

Has Mr. Stuntman learned a lesson? It’s unlikely he’s now an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, but he at least will think twice before spewing anti-gay nonsense on other people’s public Facebook pages.

Bravo, Mz. Teegarden.
