Out pro wrestler Charli Evans, one of the most well-known names in Australian and British independent pro wrestling, scored a career milestone last weekend when she debuted for All Elite Wrestling and its sibling promotion, Ring of Honor, during the company’s trip to Sydney.
Evans wrestled former interim ROH Women’s World TV champion Mina Shirakawa during a ROH TV taping on Saturday night and teamed up with Kyla Knight to take on AEW stars Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter, known collectively as The Brawling Birds, at AEW’s “House Rules,” a rare untelevised live event.
AEW’s debut in Sydney also hosted the second “Grand Slam Australia” event featuring some of the promotion’s top names from the continent, including out former four-time AEW Women’s World champion Toni Storm and AEW TNT champion Kyle Fletcher.
Evans’ presence on the show sparked fans to begin using the hashtag “#signchevs,” referring to Evans’ “KING CHEVS” moniker, urging AEW founder Tony Khan to sign the former Pro Wrestling Australia Heavyweight champion.

“Thank you, AEW. Heart full, passion burning, gratitude overflowing,” Evans said via X, formerly Twitter, following the weekend’s events. “This weekend was a dream come true. iIve never been prouder to be an Australian professional wrestler. Determined make it happen.”
While Evans is a popular star in the U.S. and is just starting to showcase her talents in Japan, she is widely recognized as a top name in her home nation and the U.K., where she spent a large chunk of her career wrestling for prominent British promotions Pro Wrestling EVE, Revolution Pro and PROGRESS Wrestling.
She became the highest-ranked Australian independent pro wrestler ever on Outsports’ QWI 200 list, which highlights the top ot LGBTQ pro wrestlers of the year, in 2025, ranking fifth among the field. Evans was also voted International LGBTQ Wrestler of the Year in the 2025 QWI Awards.
Evans was one of a collection of Aussie indie talents that stepped into the ring for AEW and ROH during the weekend, including Evans’ North Shore Wrestling stablemates Will Kiedis, Sam Osborne and Jack Osborne as well as fellow female standouts Aysha and Frankie B.
