No summer is complete without a trip to Fire Island.

This small island, off the south coast of Long Island in New York, is an LGBTQ+ haven and resort town unlike any other place in the world. Here, days are defined by tea dances, new friends, found families, and an accepting and triumphant queer spirit.

As an iconic gay destination, it’s no surprise the island (which includes Cherry Grove and The Pines, both connected by the infamous “meat rack”) attracts a buzz-worthy clientele.
