San Jose Sharks are going shirtless with a shark tooth necklace after wins

San Jose Sharks players will get a fun reward for the rest of the season if they are the player of the game: shirtless and shark teeth. The post San Jose Sharks are going shirtless with a shark tooth necklace after wins appeared first on Outsports.

Thirsty gay fans often only get to see shirtless athletes in their natural habitats if there are cameras in the locker room after a game. Coaches give speeches while burly hunks stand around in towels, you know, that sort of thing.

It’s not a guaranteed thing for us to get to enjoy nightly, unfortunately.

Thanks to the San Jose Sharks, we’ll now get to see the player of the game celebrate their great performance with a giant, makeshift shark tooth necklace with “no tarp” on, in the words of the team’s right wing, Ryan Reaves.

Ice hockey players aren’t known for showing off much skin; these guys are usually wearing giant jerseys and, in the case of goalies, body armor that covers all of the good stuff. Basketball players and football stars are giant celebrities with endorsements that sometimes allow them to indulge in a shirtless ad or Instagram thirst trap.

Thanks to Reaves’ idea, the Sharks will get to demonstrate that hockey players can be just as hot as any other pro athlete.

The first player of the game who got to wear the necklace shirtless was Macklin Celebrini, the team’s prodigious 19-year-old center. Celebrini scored all three goals for the Sharks in their 3-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth. His bare chest was just as fun to watch as his game.

Celebrini has 30 points in only 20 games this season. He is only the fourth teenager to ever accomplish this feat, with legends Mario Lemieux, Sidney Crosby, and Wayne Gretzky being the other three.

With stats like those, it looks like we’ll be treated to seeing a lot more of this young superstar with the Sharks’ newest keepsake and no top.

The Sharks aren’t the only team to have a silly little celebration like this. The Seattle Mariners like to give players who hit a home run a gigantic trident when they reach the dugout.

And who could ever forget when Aaron Rodgers would flex an imaginary title belt with his “Discount Double Check” gloat in the early 2010s?

Hopefully, this one isn’t going away in San Jose anytime soon.
