That’s why this month we launched 1,500 Strong, our campaign to build a community of 1,500 members supporting independent LGBTQ+ media by September 30.

For Queerty Editor-in-Chief Graham Gremore, the reason that support matters comes down to the people behind the stories.

“In the age of AI, it’s important to remember there are real humans behind every word that you’re reading,” he says. “It’s authentic. It’s true. And sometimes it’s a little bit messy, but that’s why people love us.”

Those humans have lives beyond the stories you see on Queerty, too.

“Our writers and our editors have lives and families and dreams and obligations just like everybody else,” Graham says. “And we love what we do.”

But the ability to keep doing it requires readers who believe it’s worth supporting.

“I believe the more voices in the room, the better,” Graham explains. “Every story and every perspective deserves to be heard. But in order to be heard, we need to support and fund the work.”
