We know that golfers often have to roll up their sleeves or pant legs and get down and dirty to make shots near the water during a round.
What about just taking off some of your clothes? That’s what Michael Brennan did on Thursday at the Zurich Classic when he decided he didn’t want to get any mud on his shirt when attempting a tough shot.
It didn’t go well.

The shot went straight up in the air and back down to the ground on the par-5 18th hole. Brennan got covered with mud, but dirty minds didn’t care, I’m sure. The 24-year-old is the 49th best player in the world right now, and with how long golfers can play, he’s got plenty of time to make better memories on the golf course.
In the meantime, there’s no reason to complain about people buzzing over your physique. Golfers aren’t usually known for being ripped. Brennan stood out with his farmer’s tan and big arms and shoulders. He definitely gets style points in our book.
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is a team event in which golfers play in pairs. Brennan’s partner was Johnny Keefer, who got a good kick out of the situation and knew that some hungry eyes would be paying attention in the stands.
“He might get a few DMs,” Keefer commented after the funny moment on the course. Keefer and Brennan are currently in fourth place and three shots behind the lead.
Brennan played college golf for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and has only been a professional for two years. He does have one PGA Tour win at the Bank of Utah Championship in October of 2025.
Fans who want to watch the second round on Friday can tune into Golf Channel. Third and fourth rounds over the weekend will also be on CBS and Paramount+.
