College football Saturdays can be a lot. There are so many teams to watch that sometimes people-watching can be more interesting than the actual game. Someone viewing the Florida State versus Alabama game this weekend noticed the Seminoles’ punter, Daniel Hughes, and poked fun at his blonde haircut.

“This Florida State punter looks like a lesbian that breeds poodles.” Besides the bleached curls, I’m not sure what a lesbian who breeds poodles looks like, but obviously Hughes’s aesthetic was more than a little unique compared to the other players on the field and caught some glances on the broadcast.
Hughes, who is from Australia and played for the New Mexico Lobos last season before transferring to Florida State, made a POV video on his social media and laughed along at the jokes.

Hughes has 10 punts this season for an average of 44 yards. His longest punt is 59 yards. But it’s his personality and ability to poke fun at himself that makes him so endearing. It’s an example that whether people are trying to be mean to you or not, take it with a grain of salt and always be yourself, no matter what.
