Love is dead: 6 queer celeb couples who have called it quits this year
2025 is shaping up to be a year of queer heartbreak.

Bretman Rock and Justice Fester are calling it quits after one year together.
On Monday, the beauty influencer took to his Instagram Stories to reveal the two “mutually” split out of a need to focus on their respective “mental health” journeys.
He added that the two are “still friends” and “still have love for each other,” and hope that “if we’re really meant for each other, then we will find each other again.”

Unfortunately, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of heartbreak.
Rock and Fester are only the latest LGBTQ+ couple to publicly announce their split and have us questioning if love is even real.
Here are five other queer celeb couples who called it off this year…
1. Fortune Feimster & Jacquelyn Smith

After nearly four years of marriage and ten years together, comedian Fortune Feimster and Jacquelyn “Jax” Smith called it quits in June. In a statement shared to her Instagram page, The Mindy Project actress wrote, “While we are sad to see this chapter of our lives come to a close, we wish each other nothing but the best as we move forward.”
As the stand-up star later told People, “These things happen and [I’m] just looking towards a new chapter and throwing myself into work and trying to make people laugh.”
2. Adam Lambert & Oliver Gliese

Adam Lambert and his longtime boyfriend Oliver Gliese broke up after four years together in July. According to TMZ, it was an “amicable, clean, drama-free split” between the singer and Gliese, who is 14 years his junior.
Naturally, Lambert followed up the news by staying busy, going on to play Cabaret’s emcee on Broadway and starring alongside Cynthia Erivo in an L.A. production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
3. JoJo Siwa & Kath Ebbs

JoJo Siwa and nonbinary queer advocate and influencer Kath Ebbs split after nearly three months of dating in early June. Their breakup followed Siwa’s stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK, where she revealed shifting attitudes about gender and her sexuality.
Weeks later, she publicly announced she was dating fellow contestant Chris Hughes and no longer identified as a lesbian but as “queer.”
4. Tommy Dorfman & Elise Williams

Tommy Dorfman and Elise Williams filed for divorce in May after close to two years of marriage. The actress met their former partner on Hinge back in 2021 before getting engaged just two months later and eloping in late 2023.
That said, it appears the two may have split in late 2024 when Dorfman shared a post on Instagram of Fiona, the Pit Bull they adopted, and wrote, “While it’s just the two of us now, I think she’s managing better than I.”
5. Chris Stanley & Bret LaBelle

Chris Stanley (a.k.a. TikTokker StanChris) and Bret LaBelle of Survivor fame announced their breakup in April after four years of dating. As a couple, the two actively shared their adventures on social media and made headlines for their nearly 27-year age gap.
In a YouTube video, Stanley explained that “nothing really happened” and they “kind of just grew apart, slowly.” For his part, LaBelle wrote, “While our paths are now going in different directions, the care and respect remain. Wishing him nothing but happiness, love, and success on his journey.”
