Luke Evans swaps Frank-N-Furter’s corset for a speedo on Fire Island

Evans has us pining for another visit to Fire Island.

Luke Evans took time out from his starring role as Dr Frank-N-Furter in the Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show to visit Fire Island earlier this week. We’re guessing it was Monday, as the show doesn’t play that day.

Evans posted photos to his social media on Tuesday.

In the photos, he’s wearing swimwear from his own fashion brand, BDXY. This includes “The Frame” swimming shorts and “The Atmos” Speedo-style swimming brief.

Evans launched the brand with his partner, Fran Thomas, and celebrity fashion stylist Christopher Brown, in 2024.

Both designs show off Evans’ lean, taut and muscular body. Evans has previously talked about losing weight due to the physical demands of nightly onstage appearances.

Many online commentators praised him for his physique. Others had their own fond memories of Fire Island, while some bluntly wished they’d run into Evans himself on the island (“Meat me in the meat rack,” quipped one).

Among those to comment was fellow actor Cheyenne Jackson.

The exchange delighted some corners of the internet.

Fire Island is a 31-mile-long barrier island off the southern coast of Long Island, New York. It can be reached by a one-to-two hour trip by ferry or train. The destination has acted as a magnet for the LGBTQ community for at least the past century and is now enjoying its peak summer season.

Many enjoy its tranquility (there are no cars) and beaches, while others come for the pool parties, tea dances and cruising zones. The aforementioned ‘Meat Rack’ is a narrow, wooded trail system connecting Fire Island Pines (more popular with gay guys) to Cherry Grove (more popular with lesbians).
