A Manhattan psychotherapist arrested last week on charges that he raped a transgender boy under his care during a therapy session may have other victims.
The NYPD sent out an appeal urging anyone who may have been victimized by the suspect, identified as Remington Yhap, 47, to come forward and speak with members of the Special Victims Squad.
Yhap, who lives on Wadsworth Avenue in Washington Heights, was arrested on July 29 on three counts of rape and a single count of endangering the welfare of a child for an incident that occurred on June 15 at Liberation Psychotherapy, located at 1215 6th Ave. in Midtown.
Yhap described himself on his LinkedIn page as a psychotherapist "specializing in depression, sex, integrative, nonjudgmental, culturally aware care." amNewYork reached out to Liberation Psychotherapy for comment about the case, and is awaiting a response. As of Tuesday, Yhap was not listed as one of the firm's therapists.
According to the criminal complaint provided by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office, Yhap allegedly provided mental health counseling to the 16-year-old transgender victim between September 2025 and June 15 of this year, when the alleged rape occurred.

Prosecutors said Yhap allegedly forced the teenager into performing oral sex on him, then penetrated the child in a sexual manner. Yhap had also allegedly shown the victim multiple photos of nude individuals and had asked the child if they had masturbated previously.
The victim eventually reported the incident to the Manhattan Special Victims Squad, which conducted the investigation that led to Yhap's arrest.
Court records indicated that Yhap was released on $75,000 bail following his July 30 arraignment in New York County Criminal Court before Judge Juliet Howard. He is due to reappear in court on Oct. 1.
A spokesperson for DA Bragg reiterated that the investigation is ongoing, and that any survivors of sexual assault in Manhattan should call the office's Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Bureau at 212-335-9373.
