The GMHC Stories Collection, which consists of interviews and archives intended to preserve the HIV/AIDS service organization's history dating back to the early days of the epidemic, has been added to the New York Public Library's Special Collections.
Earlier this month, GMHC hosted an event to shine a spotlight on the GMHC Stories Collection and celebrate the news that the GMHC Stories Collection has been added to the New York Public Library's Special Collections.
GMHC was founded in 1982 by Nathan Fain, Larry Kramer, Larry Mass, Paul Popham, Paul Rapoport, and Edmund White, who came together to organize against HIV/AIDS. Mass was in attendance at the Oct. 2 event.
Dozens of visitors — including longtime members of GMHC — attended the event, which was held at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
