Since 2011, individuals and group teams have been raising funds with a fun one-mile run wearing (very little) holiday attire. The money raised benefits the LGBQT+ Community Center on Halsted in the Lakeview area of Chicago.
Sidetrack’s doors opened at noon on Dec. 7 and the runners bolted out of the building at approximately 2:30 p.m. following a group medley of “Jingle Balls!”
A best costume contest was added to the programming this year and prizes were given out throughout the festivities after the run. David Roberts was the first 100k Club inductee and single-handedly raised $17,360. Participants were encouraged to start their own fundraising page and invent a unique costume.
Molson Coors presented a check of $6,000 to the organization and over 600 runners raised over $160,000.
