[PHOTOS] LGBTQ+ celebs glammed it up for Family Equality’s Night OUT
It was a family affair in every sense of the phrase!
It was a “family affair” in every sense of the phrase last Saturday, November 8, when Family Equality hosted an evening of comedy in Los Angeles.
The LGBTQ+ family at-large (and their respective families) turned out for Night OUT at NYA West, where queer comedians Monét X Change, Bryan Safi, Brendan Scannell, and Tien Tran brought the laughs, and the non-profit’s mission to help LGBTQ+ families was celebrated.
Of course, the night was also about its honorees: Alec Mapa and Jamison Hebert received the Reese Murray Family Award, while Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne were honored with the Visibility Award in a presentation by Abby Walmbach and Glennon Doyle.

Naturally, there were cocktails, a good dinner, great conversation, and a few “expensive sperm” jokes. LOL.

But as Family Equality board member Bethany Snyder wrote in a recap of the event, it “wasn’t about me trying to impress celebrities or see if Tig Notaro would adopt me as her new BFF … it was about protecting our families, our joy, our legitimacy, our ability to build a life without the constant threat of someone else deciding we deserve less.”
Below, some of the famous faces who showed up and celebrated for a good cause at Family Equality’s Night OUT.
