Robyn is expected to drop new music in 2026 & the gays are already losing their minds
This is a pop emergency!

???? This is a pop emergency! ????
Swedish hitmaker and queer icon Robyn is gearing up to release new music, possibly sometime in the very near future. But don’t just take our word for it.
The news comes from her longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, who revealed that he recently wrapped up work on a new project with the singer during an appearance Nordmark Pod last week.

“Just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out,” he said 55 minutes into the interview. “Super exciting! Very proud of it.”
Exciting, indeed!
Åhlund, who’s worked with some of the biggest pop stars of our time, including Charli XCX, Kesha, Kylie Minogue, and Madonna, didn’t elaborate any more than that, but the internet is already abuzz.
It’s been seven years since Robyn’s last album Honey was released, which came out nine years after her critically-acclaimed Body Talk, which included the hits “Call Your Girlfriend,” “Indestructible,” and “Dancing On My Own.”
In 2016, out British singer Calum Scott released a cover of “Dancing On My Own” that put a queer spin on the beloved song.
Scott’s version ended up charting at No. 1 on Spotify in six countries and ranking in the Top 10 in over 20 others, peaking at No. 2 in the Global Viral 50. On iTunes it reached the top ten in over a dozen countries, and by the end of the year was the best-selling UK single by a British solo artist. To date, his music video has over 560 million views on YouTube.
Though Robyn hasn’t officially announced her return to music, over the last year or so, she’s been slowly stepping back out into the spotlight.
Last this week, she’ll release a 20th anniversary edition of her self-titled album, and earlier this year, she performed with David Byrne at the SNL 50 concert. Last year, she also appeared on Jamie xx’s “Life” and the remix of Charli XCX’s “360.”
Oh, and speaking of Charli XCX, last week, she was photographed partying with Troye Sivan at Charli’s wedding to George Daniels in Italy.
It definitely feels like a Robyn Renaissance is on the horizon, and the timing couldn’t be better. With everything that’s going on in the country (and the world), we need this distraction!
News of Robyn’s album comes just one week after Madonna announced she’ll be dropping new music in 2026 as well. The Queen of Pop will release a sequel to her 2005 disco opus Confessions On a Dance Floor sometime in the new year.
The album will have the 67-year-old music icon reuniting with Stuart Price, who produced most of Confessions, almost ensuring its bop excellence.
“Almost 2 decades later – And it Feels like home with Warner Records!” Madonna captioned a slideshow of images. “Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor Back to where it all began! COADF- P. 2 2026”
