MGM Studios released the first trailer for Bottoms, an R-rated comedy-drama about two girls who start a fight club to get laid.
Who doesn’t want to get punched in the face by hot girls?
While the jocks of the school keep picking on the “weak and defenseless,” two queer unpopulars start a fight club. “We teach a bunch of girls how o defend themselves. They are grateful to us. Adrenaline is flowing. Next thing you know, Isabel and Brittany are kissing us on the mouths!” Rachel Sennott says in the trailer.
Sennot, who is known for her previous role in Bodies Bodies Bodies, is PJ, while The Bears‘ Ayo Edebiri is her companion Josie.
While their dream of scoring with one of the cheerleaders seems like a possible reality at first, things always go differently than planned in these films. The official logline reads, “Their bizarre plan works. The fight club gains traction and soon the most popular girls in school are beating each other up in the name of self-defense. But PJ and Josie find themselves in over their heads and in need of a way out before their plan is exposed.”
Havana Rose Liu and Kaia Gerber play their cheerleader crushes. Also joining the cast is Red, White & Royal Blue actor Nicholas Galitzine, Dagmara Dominczyk and Marshawn Lynch.
“Welcome to our f**king fight club!” “Let’s get it poppin’ in this motherf**cker.”
Emma Seligman, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Sennott, will direct Bottoms. The film first premiered at the SXSW film festival and was critically acclaimed.
“A movie about empowering (hot) women,” Sennot wrote on Instagram along with a poster for the film. Check out this hilarious fight club when Bottoms premieres in select theaters on August 25.
