Daan Colijn ORLANDO: We stayed at the modern LGBTQ+ welcoming Aventura Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort™ in Florida, located close to Universal's Volcano Bay, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios Florida. This is our gay couple hotel review of the Aventura Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. We love theme parks! During our USA Summer adventure in Orlando, we stayed at the LGBTQ+ friendly Aventura Hotel. It is one of the premier hotels at the Universal Orlando Resort. The hotel is located next to the entrance of Universal’s Water Theme Park Volcano Bay. Both other Universal theme parks and the Universal CityWalk with restaurants, cafés, and shops are close by. The LGBTQ+ welcoming hotel is modern and stylish. A perfect fit for couples who like to stay close to the action but with some couples-only time. Enjoy the photos and stories of our gay-friendly Couple of Men Aventura hotel review!

Welcome to Universal’s Aventura Hotel in Orlando
The hotel is one of the more modern hotels at the Orlando Resort. Its sleek design reminded us of a ’60s space theme translated to modern-day luxury. From the first step into the lobby, we recognized the number of couples and the absence of big families. Because of this, the hotel feels more grown-up and fits better to our needs during a hotel experience. The huge lobby also serves as a food court with many options for breakfast, lunch, or a quick dinner. The friendly staff behind the reception checked us in without any problem and explained everything we needed to know. Time to check out our room and the rest of the Universal Orlando Resort!
Universal Orlando Resort
Orlando is home to three Universal theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, the almost historic E.T. dark ride. These are just some of our highlights of the Universal Orlando Resort!
Standard Room
We stayed at Universal’s Aventura Hotel in Orlando in a standard two-queen room. Although we preferred one king, we both fitted in one of the queens. The room was smaller compared to other American hotels, but for Europeans like ourselves, it was perfect. We actually prefer a smaller setup of a space, making it a cozy modern room. Also, the huge window makes the room feel more spacious. From our floor, we even had a view of some of the Universal Studios Florida attractions. All room types and suites >
Universal’s rooftop restaurant
Talking about views… The best view at the Universal Orlando Resort is on top of the Aventura Hotel at Bar 17 Bistro. Here you have a 360-degree view of Universal’s three amazing theme parks. With a menu full of urban international flavors, there were many delicious choices. Throw their full cocktail bar into the mix, and you’ll be spending a lot of time here.
Aventura’s food hall
What about those munchies in the morning or afternoon? Breakfast was not included, but we enjoyed the Urban Pantry for a quick bite in the morning. For those who want to know what you can expect: At this food hall, you’ll find a variety of flavors. That way, everybody can order what they fancy. In the mood for a custom wok dish at the Asian Station? Or rather go for a freshly made pizza! Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks… you will find a moment to make use of this handy setup. And for all your coffee enthusiasts, the hotel includes an actual Starbucks. Check here for the complete list >
Fun & luxury Facilities at Universal’s Aventura Hotel in Orlando
The Aventura Hotel lies literary in front of Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park. Still, the hotel has its own pool and many sunbeds to chill whenever you need a moment to rest. Another great feature of the hotel is that they have an items delivery service. But instead of a human, your item is being delivered by Relay the Robot. Just check your in-room iPad for whatever vanity item you need, and Relay is on the way. Overview of all Pools & Activities at Hard Rock Hotel >
Good to know: Guests of the hotel can enjoy the “Universal Express Unlimited” pass as part of their stay. You can choose your personal ticket motive. Karl went for E.T. – his favorite childhood hero. And Daan selected the Jurassic Park version. Hold onto your ticket and use it around the resort to open your hotel room or pay for your drinks.
We highly recommend all lesbian, gay, trans, and queer travelers to check out the LGBTQ+ welcoming Aventura Hotel in Orlando, Florida!
