Canopy by Hilton Cannes redefines the boutique hotel experience, featuring interiors designed by Ramy Fischler. The lobby showcases wooden trellis ceilings adorned with hanging pink flowers, while the walls are lined with earthenware pots. Many of the 129 rooms and 12 suites offer sea-view balconies, and every detail embodies a “relaxed chic” aesthetic. The guest rooms feature natural wood accents, quirky artistic touches, and modern conveniences, including Nespresso machines and spacious showers. Of course, signature Canopy amenities and exclusive bedding are part of the package.
Head to the roof

The hotel’s rooftop restaurant, La Marea, offers a lovely dining experience, featuring an indoor space with expansive windows and an adjacent outdoor deck. Guests can enjoy 360-degree views of Cannes, the Old Port, and the Mediterranean Sea while savoring exceptional dishes paired with an expertly crafted selection of beverages. On the first floor, Café Crème offers a Californian-inspired all-day brunch menu, coffee, and baked goods in a comfy setting.
For relaxation, guests can unwind in the indoor-outdoor heated swimming pool overlooking the sea or visit the adjacent spa, which features a hammam, sauna, and a variety of face and body treatments. In addition, there’s a small fitness center for guests who want to keep up with their workout routine.
Nestled on the edge of Le Suquet, Cannes’ old town, the hotel occupies one of the best locations in the city. From here, travelers are just steps away from La Croisette, Cannes’ iconic beachfront promenade lined with cafes, boutiques, and luxury brands.
Take a selfie like June Squibb

The Palace of Festivals and Conferences, home to the world-famous Cannes Film Festival, is also just minutes away. The festival isn’t just about movies—it’s a celebration of diversity and inclusivity. (Ninety-five-year-old actress June Squibb was the hit of this year’s festival.)
Since 2010, the Cannes Film Festival has proudly featured The Queer Palm, an independently sponsored prize for selected LGBTQ+-relevant films entered into the festival. Visitors can visit the famous red-carpet stairs and take photos where countless stars have posed under flashing cameras. The venue also offers additional cultural programming throughout the year.
For another great photo op, follow the cobblestone streets of Le Suquet to the top of the hill. The views of the city and the harbor are spectacular, and you can grab a selfie with the iconic Cannes sign while you’re there.
Take it outside

For those looking to soak up the sun, Cannes’ sandy beaches offer an appreciated contrast to the pebble shores of nearby Nice. The city’s cosmopolitan energy, along with the “see and be seen” atmosphere of its beachfront cafes, is intoxicating. Fashionistas can indulge in high-end shopping along Rue d’Antibes. Meanwhile, art enthusiasts will appreciate local exhibits, galleries, and unique installations within the hotel itself. Each guest room at the Canopy by Hilton Cannes features original paintings by emerging artists, creating the feeling of sleeping in a contemporary art gallery.
The hotel also offers complimentary bikes, making it easy and enjoyable to explore the city at one’s own pace. Pedaling through the charming streets of Cannes offers a unique way to discover its hidden gems. For those who would prefer a professional tour, Yourent Cannes is located right next to the hotel and offers expert-guided electric bike tours.
With the Old Port at the hotel’s doorstep, guests can easily catch a boat to the historic Saint-Honorat Island. This tranquil destination, home to an active monastery run by Cistercian monks, offers an escape from Cannes’s lively atmosphere. Visitors can explore the Abbaye de Lerins, stroll through vineyards, and purchase the monks’ renowned wines crafted on the island using centuries-old techniques. For a tasty meal, the island’s La Tonnelle open-air restaurant provides a picturesque setting to enjoy fresh, seasonal dishes alongside the Mediterranean’s crystal-clear water.
How queer is Cannes?

While Cannes is welcoming and inclusive, it generally lacks LGBTQ+ specific nightlife options. However, for those who desire it, Nice has a vibrant and visible queer community. It is easily accessible by train or car and offers an array of bars, clubs, and entertainment venues.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with a visit to Cannes. Just picture Coco Chanel strolling along La Croisette, her effortless style redefining elegance and forever linking her name to the French Riviera’s iconic glamour. Whether you’re sipping cocktails on a rooftop, cruising to Saint-Honorat, or simply strolling through the charming streets, this is your chance to live a slice of Riviera style. After all, as Coco once said, “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
