Vipress claims Game Changer Wrestling match gold in a win for LGBTQ wrestlers
Vipress defeated Otis Cogar for the GCW Ultraviolent championship Saturday, becoming the fourth out LGBTQ champion in GCW history.

The rise of out pro wrestler Vipress in prominent independent pro wrestling promotion Game Changer Wrestling over the last six months hit a new apex on Saturday with a climactic main event title win.
Vipress became the new GCW Ultraviolent champion in a violent, bloody and heartwarming clash against then-champion Otis Cogar at the promotion’s annual Los Angeles showcase “No Signal In The Hills Pt. 5.”
The match closed the loop on a rivalry between Vipress and Cogar that ramped up after GCW’s “Cage of Survival” weekend in early June when Cogar won the title as a surprise entrant in the Cage of Survival gauntlet match.
Vipress impressed by making it to the final two remaining participants in that match and came just as close in a scramble deathmatch for the title later that month.

The rivalry expanded to include Cogar’s family members and VNDL48 partners Atticus Cogar and Christian Napier, including Vipress defeating Napier in a Chola Chain match during “GCW Homecoming” weekend in August.
In her own backyard and with her daughter watching from the crowd with an “Elbows Up. Otis Down.” sign in tow, Vipress battled Cogar in a deathmatch overrun with glass and barbed wire. The match broke down into group warfare when Cogar’s VNDL48 crew interfered and the collection of Mr. Danger and out pro wrestlers Anakin Murphy, Gabby Forza and Bear Bronson came to defend “La Chola.”
The crowning moment came when Forza and Bronson helped restrain Cogar against the ropes while Vipress broke roughly three dozen lighttubes over the villain’s head. A chair shot, piledriver and lighttube bundle assault sealed the deal as Vipress scored the pinfall amid a cloud of glass shards and jubilance from the crowd.
As Vipress was awarded the title, Bronson carried her daughter from the crowd to the ring and the group celebrated as Vipress gave the belt to her daughter and placed her on her shoulders to hold it high.
“My friends are the coolest and this bb gets to hold the deadliest Game Changer Wrestling belt [because] her mother earned it,” Vipress said in an Instagram post that included a video of the moment with her daughter.
The title win is Vipress’s first in GCW after building her name in the company with several standout performances during WrestleMania week in April. She now joins Sawyer Wreck as the only out LGBTQ pro wrestlers to hold the GCW Ultraviolent championship and Wreck, EFFY and Allie Katch as the only out LGBTQ champions in GCW history.
